One of the things at the top of my list as keeping me sane during this pandemic is definitely DanceBody and its community of positive and amazing people. Moving your body like this on the regular is great for your heart, mind, and soul. This app gives you access to live-streamed classes from a DB NYC studio (multiple class options per day), as well as a giant library of On Demand content (dance, sculpt, low impact, body-part specific focus, etc.). For optional additional costs, they also offer some great 30 day programs (I LOVED the DanceBody 30 day program), new 7 day sculpt programs, and regularly offer pay-per-view bonus classes with themes like Britney vs. Beyoncรฉ and hip hop. You can also rent โbreakdownsโ that will help you learn the dances you do in the Signature and Full Out classes that are in the base membership. Basically, for $35/month, this is a steal. It genuinely feels like an investment in yourself as well as in this woman-owned and operated small business. I look forward to continuing my membership well after the pandemic is over. Thank you for everything, KP and DanceBody!
I have been doing DanceBody with Katia and Courtney in NYC since they were renting small studios it the city for 3+ years. This is my favorite dance cardio ( Iโve tried them all TA, BBS, AKT, TSS) and sculpt classes. I have always done studio classes but started the live app classes during quarantine. They have kept me sane. The music is fun and the instructors are enthusiastic with dance backgrounds. Signature was the original dance cardio class. You learn one routine and perfect over 3 months. Sculpt is no dance for toning except for a short burst to warm up. You will still be dripping with sweat! Full out and Level 10 are advanced dance routines. Dance express/101 are beginner with lots of repetitive easy dance movements. The app has the same classes as the city and are very challenging unlike some online classes. I would highly recommend this app and supporting small women led businesses. They also do pop up classes all over the country like Miami and LA and seasonal classes in hotspots like Hamptons and Aspen.
This is, hands down, my favorite dance cardio and sculpting workout! I do a ton of online workout videos, and have years of experience doing Tracy Anderson and Simone de la Rue workouts (which I enjoyed), but I like this series better than any dance cardio out there. The Dance Body workouts are actually fun, and after only a couple weeks, my body is toning in a way that I couldnโt achieve with other online workouts. I wasnโt initially confident about following the format, but Iโve grown to love it. It reminds me of dance class, and I appreciate that the dances arenโt overly instructive or basic, which would quickly become boring for me. The physical workout is comprehensive and I feel worked out in a good way. As indicated, it takes a few runs to get down the basic moves, but after that, it feels like dance practice! Itโs probably not for super beginners unless you have the patience to practice and follow choreography. The sculpting classes are also physically challenging, but pretty simple to follow. I havenโt done a live class yet, but Iโm excited thatโs an option. If you arenโt a professional dancer, but kind of always wanted to be, this is for you!
