Outstanding Empathy During Pandemic Shutdown

We started at the Thrive location on 1960. Very happy with experiences at that location. After we relocated, have been going to the Thrive on Ella Blvd in Oak Forest. Kind caring staff at both locations. Empathy shown at both wellness / vaccine appointments and at sick patient visits. The two vets at the Oak Forest location, one male & one female, both brunettes ( names escape me ) are attentive and take time to address my concerns. At check out the receptionist is patient and answers questions. We are on the low cost monthly maintenance plan. It’s worth every dime. Our rescue dog is now a senior citizen. The plan has been a true blessing. Saves $$$$ on dental cleanings in addition to the exams. Not every experience at any place is 100% pleasant. At the Oak Forest site, in April 2020, when the pandemic first started, there were some bumps during a sick dog appointment. The office staff receptionist was following their protocol. However, it was not what I believed was in the best interest for my dog due to his rapid onset illness. Yes, the Receptionest and I went toe to toe while on the phone. Again this was at the beginning of the pandemic shutdown and we were all scared. The thought of losing my beloved rescue dog was unbearable. He was in acute pain and needed help. The vet was informed about the situation. He found a workable solution which followed the protocol and also relieved my fears. Considering the circumstances at that point in time I was 100% happy that the Thrive vet did not dismiss my dog’s acute distress nor my anxiety. He went above and beyond to find an alternative solution. Yes I would recommend Thrive.

Well Built

Easy to use and make appointments! Saves medical history which I assume can be updated with past paperwork once provided. My wife took her cat in for vaccinations, pre-op for neutering, and even grooming all in one visit for a really great price (sub $200 with monthly membership which is $10 a month). With COVID, you wait outside the building and they take your pet and take care of everything over the phone. They send a link for you to pay for visit. App makes it easy to track, store, and use information for “in-store” visits.

If they can’t do it in 15 minutes they refer you out.

I use Thrive’s Hurst, TX location. My first vet visit for a seriously unhealthy rescue was outstanding. This dog had maybe a week to live before a specific vet from this location saw him. That Vet has now left due to contract issues with Thrive. I really thought her leaving wouldn’t be a huge deal, that other doctors at this Thrive location would give just as good of care. The optimal word is care. The care I get for my rescue dogs, that have both medical and behavioral issues, is not very good now that this other vet is gone. Here is an example of a visit, if you bring your animal in and if it’s not an issue that can be immediately treated with medication, a test, or for annual shots-you will be told it’s behavioral and they won’t help. I even have the lead Vet at this location who tried to tell me that my rescue should have been put down because she was found in a disgusting situation. Instead of wanting to help this dog and it’s owner she just wants the dog gone one way or another. Yet, the first vet I saw at this location who truly cared, and I believe extended the life of a different dog-she cares. But Thrive Corporate didn’t care about that Vet so she left. I really really had hoped I had found a clinic that wasn’t going to bankrupt me while I cared for my rescues. I know these dogs have problems, but I also know I would rather pay more money then be told that an extremely scared dog should be put down instead of getting anti-anxiety medication.
