I am overweight. I admit it. I had cancer 2 years ago and Iโve been suffering from neuropathy ever since due to chemo. Chemo attacked every inflamed arthritic joint in my body and settled into my left knee. Balance has been a huge problem as well as pain after walking just short distances. Iโve had physical therapy and that was good. It did help but I needed more. Then I found this app and it had a slow start option for people like me. I signed up for a 4 week trial. The first day had me panting in pain and puffing like Iโd walked up a few flights of stairs. The program wasnโt hard , it was me. I had such a hard time with sideways movements and even simple steps with arm swings threw me off. But it wasnโt the app, it was my weakness. So I waited a day and tried again. Bingo. Still weak but I can complete 3 sets in a row and itโs been a week, with me taking breaks. Iโm improving and my balance is getting better. I noticed playing with my grandson I can chase him around for a much longer time. I think the variability in this app is what really works. Instead of pushing so hard you canโt keep up and get discouraged so you stop completely, this app allows me to go at my own pace. Sure I may take longer to reach my goals but I will keep on going and thatโs so important. My agile friend can take off on this app. It all depends on you but the choice of speed is YOURS.
When I first downloaded the app, I was skeptical it would really work for me. As a post menopausal woman of 63, I know how hard it is to lose weight and get fit. I started off slow using the seven minute indoor workouts and gradually increased to the 16-18 minute workouts. Over the course of several weeks, I have gained strength, balance, flexibility and stamina. I cannot believe how good I feel. I try to use the app five days a week-some weeks I use it four times in a week depending on my schedule. I am currently up to using the 26 minutes intense indoor strides workouts. My prior (before WalkFit) indoor exercise was to walk on our home treadmill for 30 minutesโฆI did this for several years but I was BORED. The indoor WalkFit workouts add a lot of variety and they incorporate continual arm movements that really boost my heart rate into my target heart range zone. Iโm no longer bored and the exercise time flies by! I am really happy with this app and how great I feel in just weeks. I still have more pounds to lose, but I am confident with the change in my dietary habits, along with the workouts from WalkFit, that I can achieve my goals.
As somebody who has downloaded countless numbers of fitness apps in the past five years, I will tell you right now that this is my 100% opinion about this app. Itโs best that I have ever purchased in my life. It has so many at home workouts and my favorite is the one where you just do exercises standing in place. I love the voice of the trainer because shes very calming and if youโre just a beginner for working out it also has a pause button that you can pause your workout so you can sit for a minute and catch your breath instead of the app just going on without you. I deleted all of my other Fitness apps and this is the app that I will continue to work with. it has a section in your profile for your bowl and where you wanna be in two months three months six months or even a year. My goal is to see where Iโm at and a year from now and Iโm gonna continue to use this app daily even more two or three times a day if necessary if I fill up for it. The best part is is that some of the workouts are only like 8 to 11 minutes long so if you just have to get that little bit of workout in for the day, then itโs right there for you. I absolutely love it that it has a variety of workouts on all different levels. I just did my second day of this app and I love it that I can go back and repeat the same day exercise. Iโm so glad I found this app. Thank you fit walk!
