ShockWave - Synth Module

I understand a Garage Band bug is frustrating and that one would expect testing to show such a thing before release. To go from that failure to the app being “horrible” or “junk” or “unusable” is, however, absurd, given the glowing reviews from people who clearly did not have this particular issue sitting cheek-by-jowl with the foot-stamping and yelling. If you can’t do a fair review, take your bug to the developer and get help or a refund. “Don’t buy this” reviews from people who gave up before they could manage to use the app are clearly no help to anyone. New apps always have bugs. If you get one that applies to you, get it sorted out before reviewing. It is not news that new apps have bugs. It is a weakness of Numerical that they often release apps too soon. Most developers do. The main compensation in this case is the the signal-processing thoroughness and creativity of Numerical’s apps. They sound great. This phase-distortion synth is already the best of its synthesis type on the platform, even with a few bugs. The other compensation is that the developer is a responsive one who works to fix problems, unlike so many developers who leave bugs in until they offer a new version they want you to buy again. One strength of Shockwave is modulation flexibility, but I’m always looking for more. Open it up, all of it. I hope the new update settles the big GB complaint and I see one of the on-screen keys issues was addressed. If so, you might want to tighten and to standardize knob appearance and response and to write up some deeper documentation. That stuff aside, this app has surprising range. It is especially worth a look for what is its core sound - harmonically rich stew arrived at in a few short steps. For the grainy, groaning roar this type of synthesis excels at creating, Shockwave is a blast.

Picked this up as a fan of Haq. And also the developer makes some cool apps just which a bit more time is spent updated bugs. Volume on the app is noisy and glitchy, response on dials needs a bit more work. I feel this issue is on the other apps as well. Hopefully they all get updated soon. I understand it takes work and time. Bravo on this release love the interface and sounds.

Based on the devs previous apps and dedication this purchase was a no brainer. Sounds coming out of this are butter so far. I’m on the latest 2018 pro and I have not experienced any hiccups yet will update when thoroughly played with but for now I’m satisfied and happy to support this dev. I love the colors and name definitely reminds me of the Decepticons purple blaster Shockwave. I really dig this synth so far so many features and options to explore and I’ve barely touched the surface. Like others have also said it would have been cool to have a poly mode just because it sounds so amazingly good. To others who blast negativity please contact the dev before dissing his app he has a lot of supported features right out the gate better than a lot of other devs who say something’s coming and it takes forever or never arrives.
