This is the 2nd time I get the card, the first time I also booked some flights with it and I paid within 10 months and cancelled, so I didn’t have to pay the yearly fee twice. I got it again to pay for an expensive trip and I tried to set up repayments and it didn’t go through but I could see the transaction in my account, suddenly said that my bank details were wrong, so I set up again making sure I typed my details correct and just like that it charged me the amount I initially wanted to pay plus $15 dishonour fee, then it came back with the same issue, dishonoured payment, I called and spoke with someone barely speak English, I got the same answer, wrong bank account details, so I got charged double again. I didn’t set up another repayment, I’ve been calling and making payments over the phone with another card, I’m not gonna let this dodgy guys charge me extra fees, because there’s no way how to prove the details, they just apologise for stealing your money.
This app provides the bare minimum that you would expect from a payment company. The thing they do terribly is repayments. The interface to pay doesn’t let you copy and paste details in and won’t remember your details so you have to manually type your account details every single time UNLESS you have a regular direct debit BUT if there is not enough money to cover the regular payment on the day then you can’t pause the payment, you have to delete and recreate it OR you have to pay a fee for the dishonoured payment. The only other option is to pay using BPay for which they charge 95c. So I think their terrible app payment interface is a deliberate dark pattern to extort fees from customers for making repayments. Latitude doesn’t do this, their app is much more straight forward to make payments. Also, humm doesn’t reduce any long term interest free amounts until all short term interest free payments have been cleared which means that, for most, they will wind up paying interest further down the line when a large amount comes due. Latitude also doesn’t do this, they chip away at all interest free plans over time to give you the best chance possible of avoiding interest payments. Humm are deceptive.
Extremely useful.. no acceptance issues at any vendor.. 1) repayments outside scheduled direct debit VERY slow to appear 2) have used the card once for an unexpected hotel pre authorisation at check in.. it took an entire month for the pre authorisation to drop off. Room for improvement on both issues. James Blundell.
