The gameplay of this game is actually incredibly fun and engaging. It feels like if Pokemon masters stamina system mixed with the original gameplay of Pokemon. At first you assume it’s a simple rock paper scissors system for counter moves, but you realize there are many ways to respond to your opponent. Is your pendent running a mainly rush down team? Well you could play the massive critter which dares your opponent to come in and get crushed, or play the elusive archer critter which can attack WHILE dodging. Theres a lot of fun gameplay here. My biggest complaint is the fact it’s progression on leveling critters and progressing areas is purely just Clash of Clans, which just means you’ll hit a grind barrier when you’re critters aren’t high enough level for the next arena. Even getting new critters is a pain, and I’m not sure if it’s somewhat random on the critters you gain. I truly feel like if they made a single player adventure with this type of combat, it would be incredibly fun. The combat is kinda just pokemon combat on a real time action bar with moves that can be responded to. So if you want to try unique combat in the creature collector genre, then this is the game for you.. as long as your fine without the whole creature collecting part.
I love Monster Masters! It’s very fun to collect, upgrade, test, etc. different pairs of monsters. Having 5 monsters is very nice because we can see how we can line up each one to give us a good strategy for whatever we are up against from the opponent. But having a 6th monster slot would be perfect! Reasons: We are able to create/use more strategy. Can make the battle a little longer. (Ends very fast at times.) Can have a chance of using different types of monsters with the opponent. (Are able to have a greater chance of victory and loss if we are offered availability of many types.) In many monster/Pokémon type games, there’s always 6 slots of a monster team, making the battle skills/tactics/possibilities of new combat strategies unfolded. Please consider. I would really love to have 6 monster slots. It feels incomplete right now because I have “Mosuko”missing from my favorite team, and I would really like to use it. I use it in another team, but if I could use it in my favorite team as another member, then that would be amazing to have! Thank you and keep up the good work! Also consider Mega Evolution! (Further evolve our monsters in mid-battle, etc., but they can evolve back into their previous form ; can counter the opponent and bring victory in a tight situation in battle.) It is just a thought, but it would be nice to have this cool feature! :)
I really like this game and it is easily one of my favorites. I have seen a few reviews saying that the game is pay to win. Although levels do give you an advantage I do have to disagree with this statement because there is a lot of strategy that can go into the gameplay. I’ve seen a lot of players who play the game one monster at a time. However different monsters have different strengths and weaknesses. I have also found that they can be used together in order to beat stronger opponents. Most of the time if you pay to level up in a game you lose the strategic advantage this gives players who didn’t put in any money a chance to win which I have done multiple times. Also for the developer I’m looking for something more in the game itself. I feel that over time I’ll get bored of the same thing over and over again. Maybe a team battles or factions or something else that adds on to the game. This would peak interest and keep me playing longer.
