I’m extremely frustrated with DiDi Food. This isn’t a one-time problem—it happens repeatedly. We place an order and the app says there is “1 order ahead of you.” Then we watch the driver on the map make additional stops, apparently picking up and delivering more orders before ours. One order ahead somehow turns into two or three stops while our food sits in the vehicle getting cold. We call and message the driver and often get no response. If DiDi is going to stack multiple deliveries, be honest about it. Don’t tell customers there is only one order ahead and then continue putting additional stops ahead of them. I’m a white American living in Mexico. I cannot prove whether my nationality or race has anything to do with our experience, so I won’t claim that it does. What I can say is that this happens to us repeatedly, and we’re going to start documenting it with screenshots, routes, delivery times and messages. Customers are paying for a service. We deserve transparency about how many deliveries are actually ahead of ours and how our food is being handled.
As an app designer, this app is a headache. I have tried to place an order on several occasions and it won’t let me because of a promo that I “don’t apply to”, there is no way to disable said promo and the app prompts me to order something different. Because apparently we’re supposed to eat whatever the app will let us order. Getting help on the app is pretty much impossible, unless you have a problem with your card, of course. I tried to uninstall it several times, delete my account and open it again, I’ve had it installed for a while trying to place an order and it’s been no use. I’ll just stick with Uber honestly.
Used this app quite a bit while traveling around in Colombia & Mexico. Very low delivery fees, and a convenient way to order food without having to deal with cash. Also good for late night munchies when it’s not safe to walk around outside.
