Got this controller so I could play Minecraft when I was away from my console and not have to play it using touchscreen. When I try to play, it turns my phone off every 2 minutes or so. Every time I try to play! If you could fix this that would be awesome. So far, the only game that I can play without it turning my phone off is Call of Duty. That is why I gave it 3 stars. I can play call of duty. Want to play Minecraft though. Please fix this!!!! I will give 5 stars once this problem is fixed. Thanks.
It’s literally been 50/50 for me, a flip of the coin, whether the controller mapping will be correct. About half the games the controller is awesome, the other half the controller mapping is ridiculous and unusable, and in many games there is no way to remap the controls. Sad truth is, although it works well on some games, I should’ve bought a different controller. I went with this one because I wanted L2/L3 buttons, but what’s the point if they’re never used. And this is only from their list of “compatible” games, which already limits the field. For $50, I should get better than 5/50 results.
Ps4 remote play on iOS. Awesomeness right there. Enough reason to get this. I needed something easy to implement for gamepad and this fit the bill for that price-to-performance ratio. I have been waiting for a decent gamepad for iOS. I was going for nimbus steelseries.. but I happened to stumble on rotor riot that uses ludu mapp. This controller is exactly what apple needed to make their games playable. Virtual gamepad is nice but the option for a physical controller is necessary for a decent experience. Pro: potentially THE controller to get. Works with PS4. Good enough for me. Con: d-pad is terrible. Must press hard. Particularly right direction. Not sure who did quality control on that but its rather unacceptable. I'm overall happy with the controller but if ppl are wondering why its so cheap.. its bc batteries are what cost the most which this does not have. Im ok with it as i have too many gadgets that need periodic charging. Four stars.. one star taken due to horrible d-pad and limited app compatibility (although that list is growing). But im in it for PS4 remote and thats worth it by itself. There is a tiny bit of a lag that leaves a little bit to be desired.. so if available buy the same game on iOS (ie metal slug). But the experience as a whole with PS4 is adequate. It's nice to have the option to play your PS4 library on iOS. Having most of my apple apps also work with it (talos principle, street fighter iv, odyssey to name a few) was added bonus. As long as they keep adding games this controller is worth it. Its not $100 like some other mfi controllers. And they do the job of listing compatible games. I have encountered one racing game (cro-mag) that uses the tilt. Unfortunately the developer did a lazy job and didn't quite think through that if they are adding controller for the game remove the tilt and let us use left and right! How are we supposed to accelerate on gamepad and tilt the phone? It's awkward. Anyways the best games for rotor riot are shmups and fighting games. SNK baby!
