I really love spades & I play a lot. I’ve gotten very familiar with your app. I’ve seen several issues while playing. Obviously, whoever made this or manages this app does not actually use the app or they would notice these issues! #1 my “partner” (a bot) will sometimes bid a high number with obviously no intention or ability to take the tricks. #2 If I bid nil & I’m the lead player, I will lead with a 2 of hearts. My bot partner will inevitably cover it with a ace of hearts. Then, later in the hand someone throws another heart. I am forced to throw my jack of hearts, my bot partner then throws a ten of hearts. Why didn’t it throw the 10 out when I only had a 2 of hearts on the table? These bots are playing on a moronic level. Another issue is it does not keep score correctly!! There are MANY MANY mistakes!!! It’s not consistent in the mistakes it makes either! They are all over the board!!! Sometimes, it deducts 100 points from both sides when only one side has gone over bags. I have renamed my “partner” DUMBF!! You have a good game here. You just need to make some adjustments!! I actually came here to see if you had any updates for this app. I can’t believe you didn’t know about these issues already!!!
The spades game is better in that they don't have silly characters and functions. What it could use is better programming. If I bid Nil, my partner should not take unnecessary tricks with a high spade and then make me constantly set. If my partner and I make our tricks and we cannot set the other team, the partner is not programmed to throw off their cards and would rather get bags and bag us out. If the partner sees I'm throwing away because we made our bid, they should throw away with me but they would rather get bags and bags. It's reminding me of my old Yahoo Games days where you're playing with newbies who don't know any strategy. There should also be an option to win by 500 regardless of the score. I was really enjoying this at first but can't get past my computer partner constantly losing the hands most of the time with plays that are obviously avoidable.
I have played this game many times because I love Spades, but my frustration with playing with a partner who is an imbecile with no understanding of the game has finally done it for me and I am looking for a different app. I have beaten the game over 90% of the time, but only because I set it to 750 to give me enough time to make up for my partner’s mistakes and have learned how to compensate for its terrible playing. None of the computer players are smart and it may be fine for a total beginner just learning the game, but my partner has no understanding of the bag rule or bidding or playing against nils. You have no idea how frustrating it is to smell out where the nil player has a problem only for your partner to trump when the nil player has the trick. And it neither covers you when you go nil or ever makes a nil since it will go nil on anything, even a two-card suit headed by a king, even when you are winning the game. I find myself constantly cussing my partner, which is of course ridiculous, but I am not sure how the programmer made my partner so dumb? And if the game is close, the computer has no understanding of scoring. For instance, in a situation where we have to bid 5 together or lose the game, it will bid 3 or 4 when combined with my bid so that you can turn the game off there. If I could give it zero stars I would.
Enjoy the essence of the classic Spades game, specially conceived for your iPhone and iPad. This will be your best ever experience on a Spades game!...
