Yazy yatzy dice game

It’s a very well made app, although the RNG was very different between my phone and my friends; he would be getting ~2-3 Yahtzee’s almost every round, whereas I would rarely get 1. To confirm it wasn’t just skill, we tried switching phones, and suddenly it was reversed, I would be getting much better luck. The only variables we could think of were the phones, but they were both running the same version of iOS, and the amount of time played in the app. I had played more, which made me think the app slowly worsens your luck the more you play, which is just stupid, because luck is luck. I have also noticed some other weird things, such as how I would never get full houses some rounds, but then one every other turn the next. Or how you could start with two of one number and then roll the other three twice (for a total of six more rolls), and never get that number. This is possible occasionally as there is around a 33% chance of you not getting it, but I would say it happens about 75% of the time, which is just plain frustrating. There is one more thing I didn’t notice until another reviewer pointed it out, and that is how you will almost always roll a straight after filling it in. I didn’t notice this, but after going back and testing it it definitely happens more than half the time. tl;dr: The RNG is broken, and I went through tons of tests to prove it. I don’t understand why the devs put all that work into making it not completely random, it seems it would be easier to put a randint(); statement and the way they did it seems to provide no benefit, but I guess I can’t complain too much because it’s free. Still recommend, but not as a full replacement for the actually random real board game.

I think this is the best Yahtzee rendition available, but it is flawed by poor ad implementation and poor technical support. The ads were enough of an annoyance initially, but you I could live with them: a small add on the bottom of the screen. But now they have interrupted play by having to wait for a video ad on top of that. They only way to get rid of them is to pay for “extra rolls.” So I did so, but never used the extra rolls because this to me gave an uneven playing field to compare with others. But it did get rid of the ads. For awhile. Then the ads started showing up again despite my having paid for the extra rolls that I never used. So I had to go into the settings and select “Restore Purchase.” Oddly, it said “There are no Purchases to Restore,” but it did get rid of those pesky ads because I HAD made a purchase. But I had to go through that procedure EVERY time I played. Then came the last upgrade. The app crashed soon after launch and play began. Consistently. So I contacted tech support again. After a long wait they wanted basic information about my platform AGAIN. I am still waiting for a response. So I did what other developers suggest in such a scenario: delete the app and download it again. But now the ads have returned with a vengeance. And my attempt to “Restore Purchase” does nothing. Apparently they have no record that I paid to get extra rolls JUST TO GET RID OF THOSE PESKY and INTRUSIVE ads. The developers need to be able to restore purchases as they suggest does occur from the settings option. I would be glad to revise this review if possible IF they get this problem fixed!

I’m enjoying the game, but I’ve been frustrated once in awhile with a delay when I roll. If I don’t wait for the game to respond (thinking it didn’t sense my roll), it will roll twice, making me miss a turn. It has also happened (not every time) that it freezes up after I have rolled a second Yahtzee, and it won’t allow me to score it. I have to shut it off and start a new game. If these two bugs can be fixed, then it would be nice to include a “stats” feature that tracks the number of games played and percentage of scores over 200, 225, 250, 275, 300, etc. Without the bug fix, however, the stats would be skewed and, therefore, pointless. Overall, it’s fun and I don’t have issues most of the time. Just wish I could give it all 5 stars.
