The algorithm is too predictable. You can always tell if it’s going to let you win or if the computer will win. With that, it also doesn’t really give a good, random shuffle. When it’s not going to have you win, your hand will be loaded with melds. It just needs to be less programmed and more random. I also wish the scoring was based on the points you lay down, not the points left in your opponent’s hand because it’s then less about strategy and all about going out first, which is boring.
Ok, so unlike this company’s Solitaire game which is rigged to make it impossible to win at times, this game is fairly balanced win/lose. The funny thing is the number of times I get beat because of “Rummy Bonuses” from my “opponent”. I just hit level 233 and in the time that I have been playing, I have had exactly one Rummy. Today I’ve been beaten by at least 5 rummies (two back-to-back in one game. and it’s often game after game. It’s not a skill thing, even though apparently play becomes more “challenging” the longer you play. That just means the cards are stacked against you so you lose more because as long as you pay attention, this game is luck of the draw. It also means the play becomes much slower because, especially toward the end of the game you’re left with draw after draw after draw before someone wins. I subscribed, so I’m paying for no ads, but I’d urge others to play for awhile before paying. You’ll win lots at first, but keep playing and you’ll see what I’m talking about. It is fun, but extremely frustrating. I’m ok with losing. I’m not ok when it’s the result of a play (rummy) only your opponent has access to.
Don’t get this app. The volume of ads is ridiculously offensive. Most respectful brands want a good user experience and they put a frequency cap on the number of ads served. This app serves an ad after EVERY HAND. It’s obnoxious and clearly they don’t care about users and are going to the money grab from other apps paying through the nose for advertising. Addition to my original review: I work in advertising. I know how ads work. Yes, an X appears to close out the ad. However, it doesn’t appear until 15, 30, or 60 seconds. Not only that, but the click zone is so small that it opens the app store every time and then proceeds to show a static ad for 15-30 seconds. If you are selling your ad space on a CPM basis, are your customers aware of the duplicated reach? If you are selling the space on a CPC basis then I hope the BBB or FTC is aware of your fraud with your click zones. Obviously your clients are not aware of ad fatigue and the negative impact it has on user adoption rates. What kind of b.s. KPIs are you reporting on?!?! As a digital marketer who advises Fortune 50 clients to have ad lengths and frequency caps fit for the user experience, I would never EVER recommend your apps and in fact will be writing a POV at my workplace for client distribution to warn 1000+ brands of the unsavory practices. While I appreciate the revenue stream fueling your back end development, you’ve taken it too far and are an insult to the advertising industry.
