Calm you anxiety

This app was recommended for me because I have bad anxiety. This app is amazing for me especially the visualizing part! I have had this for over three months because I could never find the time to use this and I thought this app would be like all of the other apps but it’s better! For three days now I have been meditating and the one that I am using for me is calming anxiety I go outside and lay down on a towel in a nice open space and I have my headphones in and it’s the best 10 minutes of my life! It makes me so much happier I feel amazing after the meditation I want to say thanks Rootd for making my life better and I definitely recommend this app because you can journal breathe and visualize. It gives you options you can pick how long your visualization and breathing can be. You can write down what ever you feel in the journal it walks you through steps to try to make you feel better. To make it even more fun you get worrier points when you complete one of the “tasks”. The breathing for me helps be more calm if I can’t visualize or journal say if I’m at school and I am having a panic attack I will use the breathing exercises to help me for like two minutes!

Rootd truly is “anxiety and panic attack relief in your pocket.” The first understanding lesson (What is Anxiety?) does an amazing job at explaining how some anxiety is programmed into us and crucial for survival such as the fight or flight response. The lesson explains that problems with anxiety occur when we feel anxiety in situations where there is no real harm or threat and this anxiety effects in daily life. In the lesson discussing potential causes of anxiety disorders, chemical imbalances, environment/upbringing, and chronic stress are all mentioned as potential causes of someone’s anxiety. In a later lesson, general anxiety disorder is described as constant worry and stress without concrete reasoning for it. All of this information given to help understand anxiety & panic attacks is extremely accurate in relation to the medically accepted definitions. The CBT skills breathing exercises, body scans, and relaxation training offered in this app are all clinically proven ways to treat anxiety and panic attacks. While this app does have a premium feature, I personally don’t find it necessary. Compared to many other mental health related apps on the market where you practically need to purchase the premium membership to get any benefit, this app surely comes in at the top.

I downloaded this app three days ago in the midst of a panic attack. I used the rootr button and went through the prompts a few times until I felt a bit calmer. There is not much that can help me when I’m in the middle of a panic attack as badly as that one, so the fact that it brought me even a little but ofpeace helped. It was especially helpful to be reminded that I have survived every other panic attack, something that is easy to overlook in the midst of one! I also love the journal feature, it makes it easy to keep track of my panic attacks and also look at the good aspects of my day as well. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons, I don’t have the means of upgrading to the premium version but I would definitely look into that if my situation was different. The developers definitely deserve it. The only suggestion I have is to add a few more helpful reminders while using the rootr button. I went through it three times before I felt calm and the sayings started to lose the effect after the first time. Other than that, great app!
