I literally have never written an app review until this one because it’s so needed…. A few things. 1. You’re only getting 2 stars (instead of one) because I love my aquarium 2. How can you make lights that *require* the user to use a smartphone app (aka there’s not even a power switch), and have an app that looks like it was designed for the iPhone 3??? 3. The app looks like it’s designed for the iPhone 3. It’s not that nice to look at, which you would think is kinda like an aquarium company’s *WHOLE thing* 4. The whole “export” function is so weird and confusing…. Just call it “run” or even “presets” would be better…. Export? Really…? That sounds like I’m about to email that light cycle graph to my mom… 5. Make a color wheel/chart from which to choose presets 6. Make the app look like it wasn’t designed for the iPhone 3…. I don’t think I need to elaborate. If you don’t look at the app and immediately see what I mean, then you need to hire new app developers… The root of it comes down to…. When I bought a $500 aquarium with a BLUETOOTH light….. I assumed it was going to be top of the line. But instead I was marketed a “high-tech, feature-rich” product (which by the way FORCES me to use my phone to turn on the lights)…. And I received an app that looks like it belongs on the 2006 App Store.

I really like being able to control my light with my phone i just wish that the designers could put as much effort into their app as they do with their lights i have seen screens shots of aquatic intelligences, ecotechs and ONFs light app and its amazing it’s modern and sleek and inviting and makes FluvalSmart look like a inferior light because the way you guys set the app up looks like it’s been quickly thrown together with no effort put into it so pls like Revamp and renew the design because it would help to beat your competitors in the aquarium light business i love your lights just not the app plain and simple Another thing is that you guys don’t respond to your comments in a professional way you just copy and paste the same phrase with your email and never actually address the feedback that you are getting for your app and are sweeping it under the rug and acting like the problems and even solutions that people give you for your app do not exist you guys should really pick it up because whenever I’m watching an aquascaping video i see the onf lights and the ai primes but never the Fluval lights I’m just saying if you guys listened to people you might be able to combat your corporate competition so please fix the app and it will probably give you guys a higher yearly revenue

I am a loyal customer to Fluval. But I am really disappointed in the way I have been lied to repeatedly about the LED light as well the App Update. I reached out to y’alls team about some questions I had just to make sure before I made the purchase. They all assured me that I would be able to have more customization as the other smart LED’s ( weather effects, better light cycle programming, full color selection, etc.) So I went ahead and ordered the Fluval Sea Marine & Reef 3.0 with Bluetooth on the belief that these settings would be available. Basically I can’t do a lot of the things I was promised by Fluval themselves. Even though I was promised it would work, I was sadly dissatisfied when I received the light. None of the options were available. Just the basic settings. Then I was promised that the update would fix the issue and that was many months ago. I’m still waiting for the promise I was made. I convinced a couple of my local fish store buddies and they started to keep them in stock. A couple months ago, they pulled them off their shelves, due to the many returns and and false hopes. I wish I would have never gotten the light if I knew it would have been a lie. Fluval what is going on? I think the light has so much potential but do too the lack of false promises, I am extremely disappointed in the LED light. Fluval team if anyone has any insight answers, please please help clarify what’s going on. Thank y’all and have a great day. Hope to hear from y’all soon PS.
