Pinoy Mahjong App is honestly one of the most frustrating game experiences I’ve had. The feature set feels barebones, but the real problem is the logic—it’s just badly engineered. There were multiple rounds where I clearly had winning hands lined up, only for the game to force me into breaking perfectly good melds and pairs for no reason. It makes zero sense. On top of that, the pacing is ridiculous. The computer players take their turns at lightning speed—like everything just happens instantly—so you can’t even follow what’s going on. It genuinely feels like the AI is just playing among itself while you sit there trying to catch up. Then suddenly it’s your turn and you’re left thinking, “What just happened?” The whole thing feels chaotic, poorly designed, and honestly kind of broken. And to make matters worse, the voice is incredibly annoying. It’s hard to enjoy a game when everything about it feels rushed, confusing, and half-baked.
I believe this is the best Filipino Mahjong game in the App Store of the very few that I’ve found. I only have a few issues with it: -The achievements don’t always work, which is frustrating for the harder-to-get achievements like Before the Fifth Discard or Full Flush. As far as I am aware, the achievements only register in the Game Center if you had fully restarted the app before acquiring it; otherwise, it doesn’t count. Sometimes, it doesn’t even register in the game itself. -It doesn’t really make sense for the player to Chow/Pong a tile that gives a Mahjong, and then not allow the player to call Mahjong even if they already have it. The only way to counteract this is by throwing any one of your tiles and then calling Mahjong immediately before the next player makes a move. -I wish the other players would reveal their tiles at the end of a round. -I love the sorting mechanic; however, I wish there was also a way to rearrange tiles to how I’d like. -Looking forward to a multiplayer version! Otherwise, I’ve become very addicted to this game and enjoy playing it when I can’t play real-life Mahjong with my family! :)
I don’t have any problems with this game when I had my iphone 8 plus. But when I upgraded to my iphone 12 pro max, I can’t play it anymore. The first game is ok. The size of the tiles are still playable but when it advance to the next (2nd) game, I completely cannot play it anymore. The tiles converts into JUMBO size tiles that it don’t fit my screen anymore or see anything. Please update the game’s version to make it compatible to my iphone 12 pro max. I really enjoyed using this app until this happened.
