This app works fine but it doesn’t need to exist. The only thing you can do with it is see tracking information for your shipment - which you also can get from the website of the shipping co., such as DHL. For anything else you need to use the Send My Bag website instead.
The first time I used them everything went smoothly. I was informed that I couldn’t send my same luggage back a long the same route. I contacted their support IMMEDIATELY to try to cancel or confirm if I could actually send the bag. The first customer service rep was nice enough. He said he would talk to his supervisor. After 20 minutes I had to go to work so could not stay on the chat. The second customer service rep first had to make it clear that this was my fault. He felt it necessary to point out that I hadn’t read the y print (even though that’s why I contacted them IMMEDIATELY because of the fine print). He also blamed me for being disconnected (even though I had told the last guy I might be disconnected). After all of this they informed me that it’s the couriers choice and has nothing to do with their company. WHAT?!? That would have been a simple enough answer to give in like 5 minutes. Why did I have to wait so long with the first representative? Rude and unhelpful. Will not use again. This is the first bad review I’ve left in my life. (At least that I remember) The service also got more expensive for what it’s worth
The thought of shipping 12 cases of various musical instruments and clothes from the US to U.K. affordably and safely, caused me an immense amount of stress. Send My Bag is no doubt an expensive option, but it was definitely the most affordable for the amount and mass of cases I was shipping (400+lbs). All of my items made it safely, cases scuffed and a wheel on a suitcase missing (to be expected with DHL) but altogether safely with no internal contents damaged. The 24 hour phone line though was a LIFE SAVER. Not only having that extended phone line, but the helpful staff (everyone I spoke to on near 10 calls) was crucial. They provided me with not only answers to the questions I had, but advised me in ways that helped me avoid issues I couldn’t have even predicted. Honestly, the Send My Bag customer support staff provided me with what was likely the most genuinely helpful support I’ve ever received and they seemed happy to do so. That level of support is something so important when shipping cherished musical instruments or any personal items for that matter so if customer support specifically could get another star, I would give it. I’m overall pleased and recommend taking the chance with Send My Bag. At the end of the day, all of my items arrived (scuffed and a day late, but safely) and I had reassuring and constructive support along the way.
