I downloaded this game two years ago as a time killer on a long bus ride. I loved it, the liminal space filled with motionless, lifeless, aquatic creatures hanging in the water unmoving. You could change what type of fish you were, the sprite for the stingray was so big it didn’t fit on the screen. I played it relatively often, showing my friends this game where you could glitch through the walls and fall into an endless watery void. I loved it, and kept it on my phone. This fine evening, I opened the games tab on my mobile telephone to see that the icon for real fish simulator had been updated. Curious at what I thought were probably some minor changes, I clicked on it. How naive I was, how much a fool. The game had been completely overhauled, and I was met with a language select screen. Choosing my native tongue of English, I was met with something unprecedented, levels. This game had some semblance of a story. I was heartbroken by this change, and the loss of my little fish in a meaningless void. The new game still has its issues, most levels can be solved by glitching through the walls to just touch the checkpoint, but the sharks occasionally go into the ground too, killing you without warning or mercy from your god. The story is just finding Nemo, but without the hot dad fish. I beat the levels with ease. In the finale to the game however, I was met with one, just one, redeeming quality. The last level is “fish dream,” and it is one of the greatest moments in the history of gaming. The surreal landscape is spot on and the odd, angular, graphics are suddenly beautiful. The two stars are for the fish dream. The original game would have gotten four. The game does have a free play mode after you beat the story, but it’s not the same, and the only way to leave it is to be killed once again by the shark. It is possible to draw the shark very far away from the main area in free play. He tries to turn back but if you pretend to go back but keep swimming away he follows you further. Do NOT swim away from the main area for ten minutes, because then your two options are to swim back for ten minutes to get killed by the shark or to close the app entirely. I’m incredibly disappointed in this game’s update and I will never be whole again.
I love the game and all but there could be more room in the water cuz I can go back and forth 10 times in 40 Mississippi and it is fun and I think you could add some animal that atak you and more fish skins you can choose from Hope you can do all of that please 🐶🐶🐶🐶🤳🏼
This game is pretty fun and the sea turtles are so cute but I wish that it wasn't so laggy. Every time I try to swim up or down it always go up or down too much because of lag. And it takes to long to go anywhere once again because of lag. Other than that I have no complaints except I wish the map was a little bigger. This app is really fun except for the size of the map and lag. You should also make it so there are different achievements and so that you can change into different fish. Of you make these couple changes I'm sure the game will be a hit like Goat Simulator! Sorry this was a really long review but thank you for taking your time to read this! (:
