Spinn

My wife and I love our machine. Coffee. Expresso. Cold brew. this machine does it. Plenty of great reviews to read. Here is some things to consider though. The water reservoir is small so constant refilling it. The company is making a larger one coming in Dec 2023. The height of the cup holder limits the size of mugs we can use. This machine does require your time to maintain. Refilling beans. Empty used grind hopper. Running the Clean cycle monthly. 30+ min. But that’s is expected and you should know to expect to keep the machine clean and happy. We did have an error occur post warranty period and had to send back the machine and u must use the original packaging. The turn around time was quick and came with a 6 month warranty. When you ready to stop paying coffee shop prices, this is the way.

I wrote this review 6 months ago …..I’m on day 2 with the Spinn. Day one was spent with an attentive support team moving us through finicky procedures. It seems it doesn’t like our “oily” French roast beans, so we are going have to buy their beans. Now day 2 in the morning the first cup came out weak and something else has gone wrong. I managed to get some espressos out but I also made a pot of French roast in our old press. I’ll be talking to my Spinn support staff again today. Maybe I’ll be clever enough one day to use my Spinn without assistance, but not today. At that time I gave a one star rating… not happy. Now, six months later I know it’s worth any difficulties. The coffee is excellent. Yes, I have to empty the grounds more often than needed, and sometimes an insufficient volume of beans make it to the grinder. But by now I’m quick to put things right. And the great coffee flows. No regrets from buying a Spinn. My one star rating is now a four.

Took over a year to actually get the coffee maker. Finally arrived and I got it set up. Apparently the carafe comes separately so it’s one cup at a time which I guess is okay for now. Day one I run a test cup and it worked pretty well. Kind of noisy considering the price. Then I find that there doesn’t seem to be a way to set a timer so first thing in the morning when I wake up I have to get on my phone to brew a cup. That goes okay but I get up early and my wife does not so the noise level is kinda whack considering I have to run it multiple times in a row. Then my wife wants to make a cup and logs in on her account and it kicks me off. Then inexplicably after her one cup it stops grinding beans so we get 3-4 cups of just warm water (Frowny face emoji here). Me logging back in requires I go through the entire set up process again which is wildly annoying. I get everything set back up and run a cup and get water only AGAIN. I take the beans out and put back in. Finally now have a cup of coffee. So I’m total for +/- 5 cups of coffee I’ve now spent over an hour with my new Spinn. After waiting for a year + I was hoping to have my socks blown off. Alas, they don’t even need to be pulled up in the least. But I’m willing to give it a few more days.
