Curiosity - Get Smarter Daily

Ok so I never, ever, EVER, write reviews, but I had to for this app. I’m in high school, and we have a huge year long research project called CRAVE and it’s a huge ordeal. When I was looking up research for my topic, I couldn’t find any good sources anywhere. But after downloading this app, I searched in some keywords and have found some of the best sources for my topic. And if you’re worried about having too many sources by the same website, they site research from other legit sites like the Washington Post and NYTimes. My best explanation is that they take sited research and make it easier to understand. The articles also let you click on the website they got their info from so that you can look for more information on it. The key words make it so easy to filter what you’re searching for, and it’s just the best. The articles are also short and easy to read! I have ADD and I can read these articles easily and they don’t take up a lot of time or thought. The only issue with this app (and it isn’t even that big of a deal) are the ads. They’re everywhere, but it is so worth having a couple ads running on side to get access to millions of awesome articles. Thanks for listening to my ted talk ;)

Update: Curiosity still wins for content. I’ve deducted a star for the UI, scrolling has become increasingly jerky and hangs up constantly. Could be coincidence, or strategic, but it seems to lag right over the ads so you end up hitting on the ad while frustrating trying to scroll. This opens said ad in another screen leading to an obnoxious loop back & forth. After a few rounds, I lose interest in trying to read anything and abort. Please fix so this stellar app can shine! Otherwise, keep up the fabulous work and thank you for sharing unique, educational, fun content. I've tried dozens of curated content apps, this one is my new favorite that is sure to stay. Quality content is just the beginning... Works seamless with Pocket, has a powerful accurate search function, responsive design, UI is uncluttered and flowers easily, visually pleasing, topics are well organized with relevant sub categories- exploring is effortless vs getting tangled in an unfocused rabbit hole. THANK YOU!!!

Not much to say except that this app helps educate everyday on things I never even thought about researching which has opened so many doors of opportunity for me. I can't express my gratitude enough for the team who made this. You're making the world a better place. That said, the format from the previous version (the left right orientation instead of only vertical scrolling) was far superior to the new one as it felt more sophisticated in the sense that there were separate packets of information for each day instead of monotonous scrolling. If you would, please change it back to make this an even more perfect app. September Update: Each new update to the app brings ever helpful and ever ingenious number of changes to make the overall experience much more engaging. And I feel bad for not mentioning this in my earlier review but you get the feeling that the writing team for each article is straight out of Harvard with their ability to display playfulness, nerdiness, and an excessive (and welcome) amount of curiosity that makes reading even dull subjects engaging and fun. However, while this app still is making huge leaps forward each update, they still need to change the monotonous scrolling for daily news that was mentioned before as it is easily the most detrimental part of the app. Overall though, this team is somehow succeeding in bringing new innovations that somehow make this perfect app even more perfect.
