I’m used to ads, but let me run you through what playing a level of this game is actually like. You watch a short video ad to see the levels. On the bottom of the screen there is now a banner ad, and then a different add pops up that plays audio. This one you can’t get rid of. You choose a level and are greeted by another banner ad, and another audio ad you can’t get rid of. You can mute it, but you can’t pause the game at all and the hit box for the ‘x’ in the ad is extremely small. If there are supposed to be any sounds (which there should be, because it’s an ASMR game…it’s right in the title) then I don’t hear any at any point. Ad is nice and loud though. I think they wanted to make sure the ASMR sound effects didn’t interfere with the ads………ten seconds before you finish a window comes up asking if you’d like to watch an ad for more time (which btw is an option always presented on the screen anyway). If you say yes, you watch a 60 sec ad. If you say no, you watch an ad anyway, but it’s shorter. You have to click no less than four times on different prompts to get out of the ad. It leads directly into another ad screen you can minimize after ten seconds. Now you’re back to the screen with three ads and will have to watch another video to start a level. Covered in ads. Completely ruins the game and there’s no way the positive reviews on this are real. They’re definitely paying for those.
This game could have been great but there’s this constant issue where you can’t see the whole game level in the frame so things you need to grab are out of picture. Or they are hidden behind the ad banner at the bottom making it impossible to grab them (since everytime you touch down there you are just clicking the ad banner and opens up a website). This is happening on most levels and makes it frustrating to play. I end up having to click the “skip level” button and watch a full ad on several game levels when I reach the last few steps. I don’t know if this is bad game development or a strategic move to get income from ad views. Either way I don’t want to play this game anymore because of this. I rather play other games in the same genre, with ads that don’t block your possibility to finish the levels.
This is my favorite game & favorite pass time! I’m a mom of 2 wild & crazy boys and it feels like I am always up cleaning, cooking, or anything else that needs to be done. By the time bedtime rolls around I am beyond exhausted. I’m saying this because never in a million years would I think I would like to play a game where I do the same thing I do all day. It is weird but I love it!! ❤︎ Great job!
