Ham Radio Exam - Tech

I took a Zoom Ham Radio operators prep class, which helped me with the basic language/terminology. Our instructor advised to download a prep app and I chose this one. I started taking the sample exams about a week ago and was feeling so defeated as I was only scoring 50-60%. I kept at it though and a few more sample exams I was scoring consistent 80%, and even higher as the week went on. I passed my exam yesterday on my first attempt and only missed 3 questions. After doing the practice exams over and over, when I did the real one, the answers jumped right out at me. I was done with the test within probably 10 minutes. The sample exam questions are word for word what I saw on the official exam. Thank you so much!

This is a terrific app for those studying for the Technician Exam for an FCC license as a ham radio operator. I used it extensively to help me pass the exam. The app allows you to read all the questions on the test along with the correct and incorrect answers. You can take a sample quiz for each section which again will show you which answers you got right or wrong and the correct answer in the case where you missed a question. Once you feel you are ready, you can take sample full test as many times as you want to see how you will do on the actually exam. I used this app and the Gordon West book to pass the exam and would recommend this app as a key study tool.

Been a General for 10 years and finally committed to going to Extra. Looked around and found this app which perfectly matched my style of learning. My methodology was simple - study the question and the green answer in each section two or three times and then take a section quiz. You quickly figure out where you’re weak and can focus. Rinse and repeat for each section - 12-18 questions in each section. Small pieces make digesting the whole thing easy. Extra is 700+ questions making it the most challenging of all the elements to pass. This app breaks it down into easy pieces. After studying all the sections and taking multiple section quizzes I stepped up to practice exams and was cruising at about 90% pass rate. Took about two weeks at 1-2 hours per day. Passed Extra exam 45 out of 50. My point is not to brag but to show that if you stick to a routine using this app, you will learn and pass. I highly recommend scheduling your study adjacent to an exam so the information stays in your head. The app is very easy to use and I like being able to review where I’m weak. After each quiz, I can click the questions I got wrong and it takes me to the question with the green answer, reinforcing the right answer right away. After that I can review any question from any section to see what I’m getting wrong frequently. Nice work on this app and I recommend it to any level of amateur radio operator or aspiring operator to help them in their study.
