SmartSDR™ - FlexRadio Systems®

I purchased this program a couple of years ago for the novelty of being able to remotely operate my Flex radio, the reality is it has been one of my best software purchases to date. If you are chasing DX, parks or fill in the blank, some times your opportunity may not come at a time when you’re sitting in front of your radio. I have worked hundreds of contacts from the hotel room on a business trip or I got a Ham Alert notification that a person, park, or state has been spotted and I am on frequency in short order throwing out my call regardless of where I am physically located.

I bought a Flex 6400M with idea of operating it remote when we were out RVing. The radio is great and the pc software works great too. But I have a tether speed limit of 5 Mbps and was concerned that would not handle the radio data very well. The iPhone version works so well that I use a HDMI cable to the 50” tv and I am enjoying the hobby on the road without putting up additional antennas. The software works great! The sound quality through my V1 airpods is superb too. I’m super happy with the software and highly recommend it. 73s KJ5WO

It’s very nice to be able to control my flexradio from my ipad. Sitting on the deck or away from home. The iPad SmartSDR gives nearly complete functioning of the flex. Held back on the final star as the user interface does not have any keyboard control. I cannot type in frequencies or use the arrow keys to tune across the bands. While the iPad is primarily a tap-device, the keyboard is a very common accessory and should be supported within the SmartSDR app.
