Reviews: What People Think About Morse-It

I learned CW on this app, mixed with MorseMania. MorseMania is good for learning straight key and the letter/number quiz is good, but beyond that, Morse-It is the clear winner in the CW iOS game. I have a vband (USB interface device) and connect my key to my iPhone. Inside Morse-It, I set the custom keyboard to left and right CTRL buttons, which is what the vband emulates. Now I have a portable CW trainer. I’ve used it on the airplane, in hotels and on my couch to drill. The use of variables and Macros is what takes the app beyond anything else available. I was able to setup a simple Macro for custom callsigns and can drill them in Koch mode. The developer is active on the forum and helpful. I’m happy to be a paid user!

Was a Beautiful app. "Now their ripping people off with subscription fees, with the excuse of their providing new upgrades, that I don’t care about.” 😡 (( subscriptions are for magazines. )) - Some applications require regular updates because much of their content changes, monthly or at least bimonthly. I have a number of large and complex applications that are not only for phones but computers too, that almost never need updates. It’s because they were very well thought out, and written well to begin with. Eventually some of the apps offered some great extras if you wanted them, but they worked wonderful all by themselves. The one time expense of the extras varied according to their content or complexity. Some were very nice, and I did purchase them. (Subscription was never mentioned). What’s to prevent you from changing your other applications to subscriptions. "I have kept your app as a novelty, and I know most people don’t even use morris anymore.” I won’t pay an unnecessary subscription for an unnecessary novelty application. It’s kinda like a fidget spinner, because it’s sort of fun to play with once in a while, and it’s educational. So don’t get me wrong, because it was great the way it was.

...the lack of documentation didn’t serve to keep most of it’s awesome features a mystery! It is completely maddening to know there is must be a feature that does this or that only to be left to stumble around in the dark. It is certainly an Apple standard to build a product so well-designed that no instructions are necessary — do you have any idea how much work it is to attain that standard?! You are not even close! Please, please document this application. it is not nearly as much fun as developing a wicked cool app, but I can guarantee it would be the best CW application ever if only people could know what it can and does do! And please, take a look at what text and vids you to have out there — it is most misleading, inadequate, or assumes the user can read your minds.
