The litter box itself, while rather large, works lovely. The app, however, needs a lot of work! Multiuser sign-in needs to happen asap! It “says” that you can invite other users directly through the app with email or phone number but neither of those options work so you’re left with using one login for multiple phones. This causes its own issues because apparently, only one user can be logged in at a time & leaves the other user(s) having to resign in…this is supposed to be convenient but the app doesn’t live up to such an otherwise great device.
As a new user, I can’t speak to the quality of the old app. This app does not properly identify each cat. Out of 3 cats, it keeps defaulting to the first cat and does not allow me to correct it to the right cat. This completely negates the weight feature and the fact that it identifies cats at all. I’m going to try to delete all cats and add them again. The only thing this app is currently useful for is to manually clean the box so you don’t have to go over and push the button. It also lets you look to see when it is in use. It is underwhelming. I couldn’t afford the more expensive alternative, so it is what it is. So sad, I was really excited about the features that just don’t exist. The box itself works beautifully, the app is basically a remote for the box at this point.
Me & my partner decided to take the plunge and invest in a self cleaning litter box. We saw the reviews on this one and were impressed that it had so many great reviews. However one thing that has bothered me is how buggy it can be sometimes. I had added some additional litter to it and then pushed the flatten button in the app but the litter box didn’t respond even though the app said it was flattening. I eventually had to unplug it and plug it back in to fix it. While I appreciate the convenience of the app I do feel that it needs a lot of work. It seems a little rough around the edges and to me not enough thought was put into making it more user friendly and intuitive. Some of the descriptions for what some of the buttons or toggles in the app don’t make sense and are confusing. Please change the app to make it more user friendly and intuitive. Take some ideas from other more thought out apps and make them your own. Too often I’ve noticed that a company will make a great device but slack on the app. Please put more thought and time into the app so that it can be every bit as amazing as the litter box.
