Everywhere Is Queer

I wanted to love this app. It's a great idea and I love that. But the functionality is not good. The search feature doesn't work right. I typed in "food" as it suggests to try-it brought up a bunch of things that had nothing to do with food, while simultaneously ignoring all the bakeries and things within my area or even remotely close. I typed "restaurant" and it legitimately came up with nothing. The map feature is okay, but I'd rather see a list and that doesn't work right either. It takes a lot of scrolling-I'm in an area without a ton of queer things, but it'd be nice to see the things actually here in the search feature. You can only see them when you look at the map and scroll around.

I've been on the Everywhere Is Queer (EIQ) mailing list for a while and I love learning about queer-owned companies and brands. I recently decided to list my own business in the app and advertise in the mailing list. Within the first month someone signed up for my coaching program after finding me through EIQ! I run a small-scale business with only about 45 coaching clients per year, so that's super exciting to have already made a sale/connection through EIQ. I've also been wanting to work with more queer clients so am really excited about folks finding me through EIQ!

I'm so happy I found this app—thanks to TikTok! They posted a video explaining what it was, and I downloaded it immediately! I recently moved to Arizona after spending the last 10 years in Portland, OR, where almost everywhere is queer-owned, lol. Since my move to Phoenix, I've been struggling to find places I want to support, and this app does all the work for me. For some reason, it's really difficult to just Google “queer-owned businesses near me,” but now that I have this app, I don't have to worry about it at all. I've never left a review on an app before, but I was so excited about this that I just had to. Download this app immediately and tell all your friends, family, and everyone you know!
