The Pattern

I have loved this app for many years and found it super insightful and helpful. I do agree with the other reviewers that the newest interface isn’t the most intuitive and I also miss community comments. Nevertheless, I still found it so incredibly valuable even after all the changes. Today, I opened the app and found out there was a “chat” feature…which is clearly AI. I even asked it directly to confirm and it wouldn’t give me a straight answer (it literally used the phrase “what does it matter” in its response…). I am feeling deeply wary about this especially in a time when people are experiencing AI induced psychosis (look it up) and worsening mental health since these language learning models love to people-please and feed delusions to the Nth degree. Especially in that context, mixing in astrology feels especially dangerous when we (collectively) are still trying to figure out what the ethical parameters for AI even are. This inclusion of the AI feature feels like a mindless push by the company to add it just because it is trending and flashy without much regard of how it may impact the real people who are actually using the app. It really gives just lack of care. I am disappointed…not surprised because this isn’t the first or last company that has done/will do this…I am just sad because I guess I expected better given how much I have loved this app over the years. Use with caution if you do continue using at all.

Well FIRST, I haven’t been able to change my profile photo on the app in at least a year, it’s so frustrating! Every time I try, when I go to save my new changes, I get an error message telling me to try at a later time, I’m so over it! I love all the new features and add-ons, but seriously can you fix this issue already?! It’s beyond overdue. But other than that... seriously love this app, I think it’s great for helping you to realize your own unhealthy behaviors and patterns, and why you might do those things. I do agree with others, though, that it could all be written in less of a negative tone, and maybe add helpful bits of advice on how to improve or change the patterns we’re in, rather than just keep reiterating the same points over and over. I think this app has so much potential to be more than it is even now with the bonds, which is really cool, but yeah, it does start to feel negative to be reminded of the same unhealthy patterns we get stuck in and why, but without any kind of advice or words of encouragement to uplift us and change the patterns. Obviously a lot of this information is based off astrology without using astrological terms, which does leave it more open for those who tend to discredit/doubt astrology. Overall, it’s a cool app, very interesting to read and go in depth, and love that you can even read about others. I definitely recommend it, but there could still be improvements 😊
