For old school RPG fans, this is about as perfect a game as you can get. Final fantasy style aesthetics, in a Wizardry style game, and they are blended perfectly. If you’re an adult with kids, and very little time to immerse yourself in an old school dungeon crawler like the old days, this is perfect. You can explore for hours, or just grind for ten minutes here and there as your time allows. Great variety of character choices and development styles makes it fun to beat the game, and start it again with different heroes and alignments in your party. Free to try out, with a very reasonable cost to buy the full version. And there’s no ads or additional “pay to win” cash grabs after you’ve bought the game. I highly recommend this one!
I started playing the demo and 3 hours later I not only purchased it but completed the normal mode. This game is amazing. It’s fun and retro, and has the perfect balance of difficulty and exploration while still having modern RPG ease of play features like an intelligent auto attack. This game was a 10/10 for me, and for the price one of the best RPGs on the App Store.
I'll say first, this game isn't free. After one big floor of the dungeon the demo is over, and you've got to pay a small charge to keep going. It's well worth paying for me. Also, this game does have a (good) English translation. This game certainly isn't exactly like Final Fantasy 1 but it has much of the same feel, and I like it. This game has a few modern conveniences, some nasty traps in the dungeon, and tons of retro RPG goodness. It took me between 4 and 5 hours to reach an ending, and another six hours for the post-game content, plus I'd say there is some replayability (try a different party).
