DoubleMap Bus Tracker

DoubleMap is a very helpful app. I use it many times a day. However, the user interface is atrocious. For example, when zooming in on specific locations of the map, the app will automatically zoom out as soon as you take your hands off the screen and re-center the map to show all the routes. I have spent minutes zooming in on the same location over and over to monitor a bus’s route because DoubleMap implemented what seems to me to be a useless feature. There are other examples of things like this on the app, but for me this is the most annoying. Also, heads up, the route times within the app are based on a schedule, not the actual buses, so if a bus is running early or late the times are useless. I never use them. In summary, I really like DoubleMap (great concept), but it is extremely frustrating (poor execution).

I think this app would be better if there was some way to be notified when the bus is heading towards the stop where you wish to be picked up. What would be ideal is the ability to pin a location so you would then be notified when the bus passes the designated pin. It is frustrating to have to constantly watch the map to know when to start heading towards the pickup location. Otherwise, I think the app is very useful.

Friends, this app is truly the best app for the City Bus of Lafayette, Indiana because of the live bus tracker. Unfortunately, due to the complete disregard to their own time table, the city bus will arrive at your bus stop at its own free will. Friends, Double Maps shows you where the bus really is so you don't have to feed into the lies that are scheduled daily. My only comment is the time estimator on Double Maps is equally as corrupt as the bus schedule itself. "0-6 minutes" it says, just wait five more minutes to see, in fact, that there is no change and the bus will still be arriving in "0-6 minutes"... So friends, This isn't about the supposed functionality of this app, but rather the deception and corruption that we are subjected to by our local transit system.
