Doctor Who Magazine, for those who know, started as just another magazine for Doctor Who fans in 1979. The news, which, at that time, there was no internet, was about Tom Baker and the change in his companions. At that point in time, the news about Doctor Who was coming out like a fire hose, especially about Bakerโs successor, who turned out to be Peter Davison. Since then, some of the wiser decisions were to tone it down for a month, and to get interviews with the earlier Doctors and companions, especially Patrick Troughton and Frazier Hines. As Doctor Who Magazine hitched itself to Marvel, it still kept producing good quality, especially through the Wilderness Years. Today, Doctor Who Magazine still represents the gold standard for fandom magazines.
