I was very happy to find this app, and have been planning on using it more often as I get back into D&D. However, there is a definitive flaw to this inventory interface. You can’t move, sort, nest, re-order, or transfer items! The big problem with this is that you can’t search through your loot and equipment as quickly and easily, and your sub-inventories can’t do you much good if you want to move items between them. I would love to have a “vault” or “coin purse” sub-inventory, but without easy transfer between them it is pretty much a manual and mathematical process to maintain. I also would love to have a weightless coinage feature, just so some groups can have that option if their house rules allow it. I love everything else about it, but to get 5 stars from me, I will require at least the ability move, sort and re-order my items. Also, the ability to nest certain items into others, or treat container items as sub-inventories; that would garner my enduring respect and adoration. A simple thing I’d also appreciate greatly is a landscape view. Better yet, throw in multi-app support for iOS 11 on iPads. I hope to give 5 stars as soon as possible! This app is amazing, and I really look forward to seeing it fleshed out for practicality.
I truly don’t know how this hasn’t become a staple in the DnD community. For survival campaigns this is an absolute necessity, and for any other campaign it adds an extra level of believability to the world and I’ve noticed it gets my players to care just a little bit more about their characters. Oh, and Mearls can thank dlg inventory for making the Goliath racial trait and the brawny feat relevant. This has also helped to make players consider every option, exploiting how much their characters can lift/ carry for puzzles, and this lets me justify throwing a dragons hoard in front of a party. Now they BETTER have floating disk prepared. Thank you so much for this app it’s made a huge difference in my games. My only request is being able to manually multiply carrying weight to account for feats/ sizes or being able to directly input this info for the character.
Let me start by saying that I have yet to find another app that does anything remotely as useful as this app does. I love this app and I hope you guys continue to improve this one and also make more tools for us fellow nerds. That said, please please please give us the ability to have sub-inventories; for example, I would like to be able to select the Explorer’s pack and change the inventory amount of each individual item, as well as adding or deleting items entirely within a sub-inventory. An added bonus would be backpacks having their own individual weight limits and auto-tracked weight of all it’s contents. I would love to be able to select my backpack’s inventory and change the number of rations or torches I’ve used and then, when I enter combat, removing the backpack and all of its contents would be as easy as deselecting the backpack sub-inventory. Edit: I changed my mind. You deserve five stars. Looking forward to the update!
