Defend by Tactacam

Purchased two cameras for property monitoring the install was super simple and easy! As far as camera placements they recommend 8-10ft high I wouldn’t go any lower then 10’ ours are at 12’ up and I honestly wish I would have gone up a couple more feet. The issue is tilt on the camera only allows you to go up so much so if these are used down low i don’t think you’ll get a very good capture of the area and so if your thinking this be a nice trail camera make sure that thing is up in the air. The quality of pictures is great and has a really good range especially day time. The live feed is pretty nice but can be grainy especially if you zoom in any it gets very grainy and is almost kind of usless to be honest. To only issue I really that was a problem is that you can’t mount the solar panel separately from the mount the camera goes on it would have been nice to mount the panels if placed somewhere else Away from the camera especially if your trying to. Be inconspicuous. They give you a good awful amount of extra charging cable length so you kind of have to figure out how you want to keep it all tied up so why not have a separate mount idk. But so far they’ve been great just like all the other cameras and services they have very easy to use and have been really trust worthy. We will see how well they do come this winter when the snow starts flying if the panels keep them charged and if keeping snow off of them is gonna be an issue.

I purchased the lactacam Defend 360 Cellular Security Camera to monitor a remote property, and it has been extremely disappointing. The pan/rotation feature does not work reliably. The camera is supposed to rotate back and forth to monitor the surrounding area, but it frequently gets stuck and stops moving. The only way to correct it is to physically go to the camera and manually turn it. For a camera designed for remote monitoring, that completely defeats the purpose. The video functionality is also very frustrating. Even when you request a video through the app, it often takes a long time to receive it if it comes through at all. On top of that, there are limits on how many videos you can request, even if you are paying for the premium subscription. For a security camera, this makes the feature far less useful than advertised. Another downside is that the camera does not support two-way audio, meaning you cannot speak through the camera to someone on your property. Many much cheaper cameras offer this feature, so it's surprising that this one does not. The zoom quality is poor as well. When you zoom in, the image quickly becomes very pixelated, making it difficult to clearly identify anything in the frame. Considering the price of the camera and the additional monthly subscription required to use many of the features, I expected a much better product. Between the unreliable rotation, delayed or unavailable video requests, lack of two-way audio, and poor zoom clarity, this camera simply does not perform as advertised. Overall, I would not recommend this camera. There are better and more reliable options available for the price.

I looked at every option in these cameras are the best for us. They stay. Fully charged up with the solar panels. The photos and videos are pretty clear and the Tech interphase isn’t too bad. I’ve had a couple of problems, but at the end of the day, what’s the best about this company in my opinion is how well their customer service provides support. The last three people I have spoken with were amazing including one just two days ago, though I can’t remember her name. I would definitely buy these again and they are going to be used as our auxiliary units after we get our hardwire underground cameras, put up around our 60 acre property.
