Catawiki - Online Auctions

Catawiki has decided for some reason to disable the ability to contact one of their “experts” with questions about an item you wish to bid on. Why, I cannot imagine. They also delete your saved items after several days so if you have any hopes of keeping a list of items you like but didn’t/couldn’t buy, possibly to find again in the future, forget it. Unlike eBay they will not let you communicate with the seller to ask any questions. And once an auction is over, they hide much of the description and all but one of the photos of the item sold. I missed several items today I wanted to bid on, but despite having text alerts enabled, they never come through, so a €150 book sold for €3. I’m sure the seller is thrilled <sarcasm font> They are becoming increasingly opaque which is troubling and makes the buying process less fun and more frustrating. There is also no obvious way to contact Catawiki and when you eventually find it, expect several days for a reply.

Love the site. Mostly have had no issues buying vintage watches from Europe and having them delivered to the USA. I have had problems with about three watches out of the sixty I have bid on an won. So a pretty decent percentage are fine. In these cases it would not have been worth it for me to ship the damaged watch back and Catawiki support was not supportive of me the buyer. Still using the site so obviously the good outweighs the bad.

Ok let me be clear I use to love this app is an eBay copy.. they try to be like the ebay but unfortunately they are not… I buy a pair of shoes Louis Vuitton and they were in bad condition not as described and looks fake from far..I ask for a return..I send the shoes back to the seller I pay $70 extra to return the shoes back and at end the seller does not return my money.. Hi put my on black so I can communicate with him and When I call the customer support of this app from USA to France Paris I pay another $60 for the phone call directly to a customer support service… this is horrible someone just scammed my on there auction Licitaion and they don’t care they don’t offer support, You can not contact team if you do you have to pay is not free and at end they support the seller not use as buyers.. again this person sell my a pair of shoes Louis Vuitton $400+ and I pay another $70 to return back and the seller does not return my money and I have to pay another $60 to call the customer support and at end they don’t tell me nothing clearly or If I get my refunds back. Stay a way this is not a professional platform they really don’t pay attention on your request no customer support nothing.
