Carpet Bombing 3

I was hooked on CB2 and was thrilled to see a third version of the game came out. I really enjoy the wingman feature and the improved graphics, but I wish a few things were different: unlike CB2, i'm not able to tap on a target and focus the gun or missiles at it, and the auto focus doesn't always lock onto the target i want to shoot. Also, I wish there was an option to play with fuel restrictions in this version, like in CB2. Lastly, I really enjoyed playing with the B2 Spirit in CB2 and was excited to use the F117 in CB3, but you never receive stars or powerups when using the nuke, which is very disappointing. Other than these three issues, I am very pleased with CB3 and will continue to play it, but it would be great to see some of the flaws worked out!

This is a legitimately free game that is a lot of fun. It side scrolls like Scramble or Sopwith. It’s worth saying that there’s a slight learning curve on the controls. I crashed the first ten times until I got the hang of it. It has a simple storyline in a campaign mode that’s just hard enough, and an endless mode so you can play like an arcade game. There are ads but only if you choose to watch for an extra life or a bonus. It took me about a week of casual play to get through the campaign but I’m still having fun with lots of replay potential.

This was a problem from the previous game but far more egregious here especially when fighting multiple aircraft at once. They seem more intent on crashing into me than they do on actually trying to shoot me down. Yet, there is no collision damage for them flying directly into each other. Heat seaking missiles also have far too much fuel, giving the fifth gen fighters time to fire an additional one at me while their previous missile is still trying to chase me down. What happened to the eject feature to get a second chance at the tougher missions? Why must I now watch an ad every time? It seems that the higher difficulty is not meant to propose a challenge but to generate more ad revenue. Furthermore, the addition of friendly NPCs is more of a detriment than anything else. They seem to hit me far more often than they hit the enemy. This game is more of a step backwards than it is an improvement
