So I have yet to even work at a facility. I uploaded all of my documents and then had to check back everyday to schedule a phone call with their staff in order to proceed. I finally got one but she didn’t tell me that it would probably be another month to start working if at all. On the call, I explained I move around a lot and would like to pickup shifts where I’m at. I checked where I’m at, the nearest facility is an hour away but there are several shifts available. A rep from CareRev texts me, the facility doesn’t have any availability to orient for another 3 weeks. I can only sign up for that after I finish their credentials process which could take another few weeks on top of the already 2 I’ve been waiting. She asks about the next state I’m going to that shows only 1 shift in the next 90 days. But more may open. 😶🌫️ So if you have all the time in the world and in the right location, this app would be great. But for me, so far it’s fall short. I’ve worked for many staffing companies that typically don’t have any orientation.
I have 10+ years of phlebotomy experience but wasn’t eligible to work because I don’t have hospital experience within the last 12 months. I told the screener I have over 4 years of combined hospital experience but she must not have any industry knowledge because her response was “Well, our clients just expect you to hit the ground running.” Phlebotomy jobs rarely if ever include any training and you’re always expected to “hit the ground running.” I’ve never had any problems getting a phlebotomy job and I don’t need any help now but I thought this would be a good way to make extra money… Instead I wasted 25 minutes on hold waiting to hear this ridiculous screening requirement and get turned down after days of getting nonstop texts from Care Rev saying that I’d been given priority status and asking me to interview. Crazy.
I love this company and love this app. So convenient!!!! However the “Upcoming shifts” page changed recently and it is not as clear as the previous version. Specifically, the date is listed between shifts and could easily be misread/applied to the shift above vs. below. Also, it was previously very clear if shift was “Open,” “Claimed,” or “Working.” Now it’s not as clear. I missed the small checkbox in the upper portion when I looked at it and wasn’t sure I was working. Also, the current shift being worked is listed twice, the top and the first box of shifts. Redundant and confusing.
