I love Meggan and her workouts, but this app is not my favorite. My biggest issue is not being able to plan ahead and see workouts ahead of time easily. I would love to be able to look ahead to the exercises without having to open the workout, as if I am starting the workout. Related to this, I hate when you exit the workout from the planner section and it takes you to the content library instead of exiting back into the weekly planner. On the main page, the week of plan does not update. For example, it is week 3 of the peachy plan for me and it shows week 1. I don’t get why there is a “your guide” section and “weekly planner section” just make it all on the same page! It is not easy to change the days of the workout. For example, I was on vacation for half the week. I cannot figure out how to move the workout from Monday to Wednesday. I do not want an inspiration message to pop up every time I open the app. Finally, when you try to find alternative exercises during a workout it does not pull up related exercises that you could replace it with. Some exercises will be listed multiple times for some reason. Also, the “start” buttons for countdown exercises are so tiny. It takes me multiple attempts to press the tiny play button to start the countdown. Please just make the entire timer icon a button! I also wish the timer could be heard even when out of the app. For these reasons I probably wouldn’t renew my subscription. The app is a hassle to figure out and use.
This app has changed how I view a community, the encouraging people on here have helped me with not only motivation to workout but knowing that there are kind, amazing people out there has helped me mentally. Also helping my mental health are the amazing workouts! I haven’t met one on this app that I felt was “too much” for me to handle. They of course have challenged me on certain movements that I would otherwise have avoided & made me feel so strong in other areas of my fitness training. I really appreciate the flexibility of the app, it encourages you to listen to your body by allowing you the opportunity to change up your workout for that day or choose a rest day if you’re not up to it. I’ve also tried a few of the recipes & my goodness are they good!! They’re flavors that go beyond my normal daily food routine & I LOVE that! Stretching myself outside of my comfort zone & experiencing new foods, it’s so fun for me! All in all I love this app & am so happy I downloaded it when I did 💕 My only criticism at this point is I’m hoping for an update where I can remove a certain movement in a workout because of “lack of space” or “lack of equipment” as examples. & maybe then that movement will be replaced?
Beyond is the best health and lifestyle app on the market. Most apps are only related to fitness and have set workouts and boring recipes. Beyond is the opposite. As a brand new app, there are FOUR different workout guides to choose from. There are two at-home guides and two gym guides. These workouts are also customizable, which is my favorite part. The recipes on Beyond are fun, delicious, and healthy. They make you want to eat healthy. There is also a community section where you can connect with other people using the app. Everyone is so supportive and roots for each other. There is also a journal aspect that focuses on mental health. Beyond the app, there is communities on both Facebook and Instagram where you can connect with people, share your progress, and participate in challenges. I’ve only been using Beyond for two weeks and I have already noticed such a difference in my mental health, as well as feel myself growing stronger.
