Any Distance Running Tracker

It’s so so buggy. Beautiful UI, but unusable. Admittedly, I’ve only tried using it once, but the experience was so terrible, I’ll never use it again. Starting the run on my watch turned off my music I had playing, which was a minor annoyance, but was the start to a rocky relationship with this app. The watch app had some weird bug where the running route was overlapping the running metrics so I couldn’t read anything with all the route lines crossing through the numbers. It made tracking pace and distance nearly impossible while on the move. Also, the digital crown is way too sensitive so it was extremely difficult to navigate to the pause button or to the other screens offered while on the run. Then at the end of my run, ending the workout also stopped my music, which again, is a minor annoyance but on top of an already bad experience felt so frustrating. I started using Any Distance to check out its post run features so even though the Apple Watch experience was terrible, I was still open to what the post run data would be like. Unfortunately, I can’t do anything on the run details page. It’s completely frozen and locks me out of any input. I can’t even navigate away from the page. I literally have to close the app and open it again to unblock myself from being stuck on the frozen run details page. TL;DR, the Apple Watch experience is buggy and the iPhone experience is virtually unusable making this app the most garbage tracking app I’ve ever used.

The AnyDistance app is what I’ve been looking for in a fitness tracking / sharing app, it puts privacy at the forefront of the development, allows you to build a close knit community of others looking to stay active, while simultaneously making it fun through digital rewards and more. It’s also by far the best looking design for sharing your workouts on other platforms with the incorporation of 3D and AR graphic overlays. The sharing graphics alone, have had people messaging me to join the community. Highly recommend building your active community with AnyDistance!

I have lifted weights and avoided cardio like the plague most of my life. Recently, I’ve been increasing my distance on indoor treadmills, especially in fitness classes like Orangetheory. But like anything in my millennial life, if I didn’t take a pic/share it, it didn’t happen. Apple fitness, running apps, and Orangetheory native apps share too much, too little, or just look like garbage, so that’s where Any Distance has been a huge game changer for me. You can share the details you want, hide the details you don’t AND there’s not a detailed map with the location of your run for creeps to learn your patterns, but rather a beautiful, non-identifying 3D path of your run that looks amazing. I now LOVE sharing my workouts with Any Distance - particularly runs (who am I???). I’ve intentionally spent more time on the treadmill to watch my improvements in pace and to get closer to my annual miles goal. And now, dare I say it, I even look forward to running outside just to earn medals and share my workouts to social. 10/10 get this app.
