It’s hard not to love classical music. The wide range of emotions and styles that a piece evokes, as well as the calm serenity that sets in is like nothing else. Having a job where I can sometimes listen to the radio, finding their station was a godsend to get through the day. The app works well and is a good way of listening along at home when I’m in the mood. Plus the university they’re based out of is Christian, so it feels good to support them too.
My city used to have a classical music radio station, but it gradually transformed into more of a news station. I love this app because now I can once again listen to classical music in the car! It’s good for studying too. It’s not glitchy at all, and you can see the list of songs they play every day on their website.
As a teenager in the late 70s, I discovered WSMC on the radio and it fed my growing love for great music. Eventually I moved away from the area and no longer had access to my favorite station. Now with this app, I can once again listen to what is, in my opinion, one of the great radio stations in the whole country. Unlike most other “public” radio stations, WSMC has avoided the drift into all talk, news, and opinion (which is available in so many places) and has stuck to offering food for the soul in the form of great and timeless music (which has become harder and harder to find).
