Finding this app saved my enjoyment with Word Solitaire. Unlike the first app I'd downloaded, this one doesn't throw constant ads in my face. No pausing mid-game for an 'ad break', no coercion by pushing ads on me so that I can get 5 more moves & maybe complete the level, no random increase in hardness I didn't choose. This app's ad's are minimal, & it allows you to pick your difficulty level. There won't be random hard levels that they'll use to try to coerce you into watching ads to beat/pass it. They also don't have a coin system where you have to spend coins to access moves like Undo, you can just use it! Highlyyyy recommend. It's a bummer that a far worse Word Solitaire app has more users & reviews bc they can afford (likely with all their ads) to pay/'sponsor' Apple to boost them to the top of the search results for Word Solitaire.
Iโve tried several versions of this game, but this one is hands-down the best. First - they donโt throw ads at you in the middle of gameplay. It does have banner ads, and one that you can skip after each match, and you can choose to watch an ad for a Magic Wand assist, but I am completely good with that! (You can also pay a one-time fee of $9.99 to remove them). Speaking of payment, their store is hidden in the Settings menu - itโs not cramming the screen with sales. Who does that!?!? I wish more games would! Second, NO TIMER. Expert level games have a limited number of moves, but the other difficulty levels have NO MOVE LIMITS. And you can watch an ad to get extra moves if needed in the Expert level games. Next, one of the really cool features is you can tap and hold a card and pull up the definition, or send feedback if you think a word or image is not a good fit for the Subject card. I enjoy using the definition feature, because thereโs always new words to learn and youโre not bouncing back and forth between the game and your browser. So convenient! I would like to put out there to the developers that occasionally I donโt know what an image represents; I usually figure out where it needs to go but maybe adding what the image is in place of definition? Just a thought. Word Solitaire Now! is a fun game that does make you think about more than just grouping. In addition to sorting cards with the correct subject, you have to consider availability of open spaces. Simple to pick up, hard to put down. Again, this is the superior version of this game, donโt waste your time with other versions!
Saw this game in an ad, reviews said it was the best of its category so gave it a try. There are ads in the game but they are skippable and playable. Also an option to pay to remove ads which some games donโt offer. Play is challenging for sure. Iโve only played easy levels and one medium, the harder levels include turn counts and other parameters. Some of the associations are a big stretch (like a barcode scanner in the backpack category?) or are cross-category (like an image of a cat in the France category, when there is also a cat category but those cards are words, not images). Tips: pay attention to how cards are presents (an image, or wordโthey donโt mix); try to leave a space open on the table to maneuver runs of cards until they can be stacked in a pile at the top. Making a run on the table is counter-intuitive in that the category card can only be added to the end of the run(not the start), and once itโs added, no other cards in that category can be added, unless you move the entire run onto the card you are added (which is why leaving an open spot is important). The category card cannot be the first (base) card in a run on the table, it can only be placed on the end of the run, even if there are more cards to add to that category/run, and even though the category card is the first (base) card in the pile once they are stacked at the top of the table. This is where turn counts will make it really challenging, if you forget this. Overall so far it is an enjoyable game, my brain feels challenged. I like it.
