Whirlometer

I thought my Audio Texhnica LP60 was running a bit fast but it doesn’t have a strobe meter to check. This no frills app is pretty simple to use and verified that it was running too fast on 33 and 45RPM. After lots of tweaking with a screwdriver underneath the turntable, I checked with the app and against streaming versions of songs and I got it at the right speed. Hopefully I won’t need to check again for a long time. Well done, developers.

Took a little bit to figure out how it works. But found my table was a wee fast. I could hear it was off when I tried to play guitar along with a record. It said it was 33.7 rpm’s . After adjustment and checking with this app , it now says 33.3 rpms. And it does sound in tune with my guitar now. Great !

I was so surprised at how accurate this was. I’d normally use other apps that require putting your phone on the plate, but those usually cost money or scam you with in-app purchases. I’m go glad this app was free! I was able to get my player spinning at exactly 33.3 rpm, and I was also able to adjust my 45 rpm setting!
