Waxwing Remote

This app works fast and connects quickly for me. My one tiny gripe, is that when you tap the top of the screen it doesn’t automatically page up like many other apps. That would make it nice to hit mute. Or maybe have a floating mute so that it’s available no matter where you are in the menus. That would also be nice as a widget or something that shows up on the Lock Screen.

Why can’t more software be like this? Everything is discoverable and clearly marked. Every single option has a description of what it does. Nothing is hidden. It is fantastic! The best part is that you don’t even need to pair it. No WiFi or Bluetooth pairing mode to engage and successfully navigate. Just start the app near a Waxwing and it works!

The app is the perfect companion for the excellent Waxwing phono preamp. It connected instantly on startup and maintains a reliable connection to the device. It provides easy, intuitive control of the many signal processing features baked into the device, including active click and pop removal during playback, bass management, rumble filtering, choice of mono modes as well as stereo, turntable speed checker, record condition grading, and provides a cumulative total playing time. I’ve been collecting vinyl for decades and now it is sounding better than ever.
