Whipper - Idle RPG

I love this game, because it requires minimal effort on my part. I can check in every few hours during work, collect loot, upgrade items, and send my character back to a dungeon in around 3-5 minutes. It took me a bit of time to figure out how to do certain things, since the tutorial is quite limited, but it wasn’t overly complicated in my opinion. The only thing I wish was more clear would be what certain stats do. I have played a lot of rpgs, so I get the gist of it, but somebody starting out would probably be very confused. All in all, I recommend this game to people who want to play a game during the day, but don’t have much time to do so. It’s perfect for little check ins.

I have been playing this title every day (for as little as maybe 5 minutes every couple of hours) since the beginning of February? It’s a wonderful gem that never ceases to pique my interest with every update and with every notification reminding me that my character has successfully returned from dungeon delving. The lore surrounding the game is super interesting and very well written! Love the world building! Worthy of RPG enthusiasts/management sim lovers! The ring synthesis addition was an amazing addition dev! And by far my favorite part so far is the “Through the Looking Glass” (maybe even Matrix inspired, wink-wink) levels where passwords are needed to access special dungeons. I usually sneer at critics that leave mechanic suggestions for devs in the comments sections (because I have NO CONCEPT of coding nor would I know if the suggestions were even possible) but I cannot help myself here: If there were ways to incorporate more secret dungeon floors/levels somehow? …legendary ! There’s really no gameplay in this game. It is an app that you check on a couple times a day or less. You send an adventurer out, they either come back with loot or die. You then equip the new loot or upgrade your current equipment so that they can dive deeper in the dungeon or unlock new ones. There’s no music, no animations, it’s essentially text based. Anyone who’s looking for a “game” look elsewhere. But if you’re like me and just want something to check in on every once in a while and see numbers go up, this app is perfect. The dev seems to be actively working on it too, which is always a plus.
