Wear OS by Google

Ok, I am not going to lay all the blame on the app since I know part of the problem is that you can only connect to what Apple lets you. They still want people to buy the Apple Watch after all! But there are things you can do to make the experience better. Searching for apps on the watch wastes battery and is annoying. Give us an app (or add to this app). where we can search for apps to download on the watch that will work with iOS. Where we can read and leave reviews and give input to developers about our iOS experience. Then after researching options we can download what will work best. I have downloaded lots of apps just to immediately uninstall them and search for another with a similar function. A web search for apps gives lists of great sounding apps that when I look for it on my watch it doesn’t exist because I need an app on my phone that isn’t available. I think something like this would improve the Wear OS experience and maybe encourage developers to respond to positive and negative feedback about their products. If an app works well and increases the functionality of my watch I wouldn’t mind paying a little for it. My biggest personal gripe is I am not a fan of google fit. Mainly because I do aqua aerobics three times a week for an hour and google fit registers essentially nothing. I don’t know if that is because I am disconnected from my phone while I am in the pool - but my arms are moving all the time. And As others have said it would be great if google fit connected to my fitness pal.

I have a Fossil Q Explorist that was bought as a gift b/c it’s known how I adore big faces (as a female)... Nonetheless, after years of my Apple Watch, I thought what the heck. I tried the Wear app on my work phone (SG Note8) and it was okay compared to my Apple Watch and OS stability as well as app qualities. Then I paired my Fossil watch with the Wear app via iOS (iPhone X) it’s minimal, limited but not close to that of its full potential. The Google Assistant feature cannot be disabled, my reasoning for wanting to do so — it activates even when not summoned “ok google” or selected. It, being the Google Assistant chimes in when doing most anything from watching tv to quiet time/meditation. I am partial to minimal notifications due to limitations of participation in/of apps (whereas w/ Apple Watch provides access to hundreds of different apps even if just notification and view of info & data), lack to fully partake in my incoming calls or make from my watch, lack to receive and respond to all text/sms/iMessages or alternate communications via email (in similarity to BBM and other legit comm. aside Gmail not like social media platforms). Some actually have a smartwatch not just because it looks good or works well with tracking certain levels of fitness. But a combination of all of the above. I’m a full-time professional and student but I also have downtime that I would like to enjoy in addition to quality apps in relation to my Wear app. There has to be some collaboration at some point for the betterment of OS in different smartwatch makers to not just limit to the link/syncing by smartphone OS/devices. It’s not just about a fine piece of smart wear but that also of quality and variety to the users necessities.
