I love this game for many reasons, like the storylines, the gambling aspect of course, but best of all.. its history. %95 of the characters from this game are inspired by real, Japanese race horses, that each have their own legacy that this game honors. I too began honoring the legacies these horses have had, such as Rice Shower and such. It also had made me learn more of a sport that I never thought I would love so much.. horse racing. From playing Umamusume: Pretty Derby for almost a year now, it's given me a big spark on horse racing, and has become one of my biggest interests. Any races my local race track has? I'll be watching them from TV, admiring everything there is to admire. I even went to my first horse race this year over at the Saratoga race track to witness the Belmont Stakes, where I got to see this year's Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo acquire the second leg of the triple crown and win. That was one of the best days I've had in a few months, and I'm planning again to go to the races to watch them in person. This game is the reason why I've discovered something new that's made me so happy, and I will continue to play this game continuously. I highly recommend this game to everyone who might like anime, horses, lore, or maybe all three of them at once.
The game is pretty awesome, breathtaking art and animation, adorable horse girls, and addictive training cycles to try and bring out their full potential. So where’s the problem? Getting the characters and supports you want is more painful than playing Russian Roulette with a fully loaded gun… There’s lots of characters and even more support cards, so if there’s one you’re trying to get, it becomes extremely difficult already, even without all the future additions that’ll come. I deeply regret going for Mihono because while I thought she would be cool, I don’t like her nearly as much as the new Tokai, and it took me 180 pulls before I got her from her featured banner… And like a fool, I did another 20 to be able to actually use the exchange points you get towards a guaranteed one. That took every carat I got while that banner was active, as well as some premium ones (not using any for Support card draws)… So for any and all future banners, it’ll likely be impossible to earn enough carats to do enough pulls without paying large sums of money, and if there’s a support card you want at the same time, you’ll likely need to fork over hundreds of dollars, especially if you want to upgrade them… I was amazed when I got new Tokai in 30 pulls this new banner, but now as much as I would love to keep pulling to be able to star her up, I want a Kitasan Black card, so I need to keep trying for that sub 1% chance at that featured card and can’t afford to try to make Tokai any stronger…
Been playing this since its release 12 hours ago. Can't get into it tbh. It has great potential, but this is one of those games where you gotta dedicate your time to this game and nothing else. If you play other mobile apps, then this game isn't for you. I'm just being honest. There's so much content to this game which is GREAT! but if you're playing other games on your phone, it's just gonna get confusing for the player. If you're gonna download this game and play it, you better make sure this is the only game you're committing your time too. I play 2 other games on my phone and I clearly wanted to add Umamusume to my mobile gaming collection. Tried it for 12-13 hours stayed up all night to see if I can make something from it. Maybe if I wasn't playing my other 2 app games, I think I would've honestly enjoyed this game 100% without being confused to what stats do what to each girl on this game.
