Ultimate Sackboy

As much as I enjoy the game and it’s beautiful graphics, like others have complained, you get to a point where you just can’t win daily challenges. You’re expected to win 2 to 3 games in a row but you are matched up against a score that is just impossible to beat. I see responses from the developer that say changes have been made to address this, but it is just a canned response. They are not actually reading the concerns or addressing them. On top of that, this new season went from giving great number of coins and gems in higher tiers, like upwards of 5000 coins and 50 gems for the paid tier, to this season maxing out at 1000 coins and 10 gems. You are expected to increase your level but it gets to a point where you realistically can’t upgrade items and without those major coin bonuses you’ll necker get to a point where you can raise your level. The other part that makes no sense is that you get less leveling up points the more expensive the upgrade. You can upgrade an item for 1000 coins and get 10 points or 2000 coins and get 15. You should get more points the more you spend on an upgrade! Again, I want to like the game and it’s a fun diversion when needing a quick mindless break, but without ability to really advance after a certain point it gets frustrating and irritating.

I actually love LittleBigPlanet and played toooons of the original Run Sackboy Run! (RSBR) Even got the shirt for that game in the actual LittleBigPlanet. But anyways, unfortunately I can’t even play this game, I would attach an image if I could but I’ll just explain. So basically I just started this app, and I like it a lot. Reminds me of another app.. And so I’m still in the tutorial. Whilst on the app I noticed a battle pass and was looking through it. A little bit later I go out with my brother, closing the app. It had been some time since I’ve played the app, so I decided to go back on it, and it shows me the battle pass had ended. I thought “Oh, well, okay. Unfortunately I missed out on some cool stuff but it’s fine.” And then go to close the notification. But unfortunately I can’t because behind it, it wants me to click on something in the top-left corner. I go to click on that and to hopefully skip the battle pass notification, but it won’t work either. So here I am, still confused on how to play because I can’t close either notifications. I’ve tried closing the app, I’ve tried to quickly close them after opening the game, nothing. I haven’t tried to delete the game and redownload it. I might try that after this review, but my point is; I shouldn’t have to do all of that to play this. I like the game. But it’s a shame I cannot play it.

The game itself is simple and fun. Do a run for 40 seconds, get and upgradecostume pieces, customize sackboy and run again. The main problems of the game are just that it’s immensely hard to get first in later stages since those in first have way more stars than you, another thing is that only having to run for 40 seconds is not that fun, adding an additional infinite run mode would definitely be better as an option. The way you can customize your sackboy down to every detail like the original games is very fun and a really cool aspect but i feel as if its too hard to get new pieces of custom since you will mainly just get duplicates and another thing is that you cant change the color of the costume pieces which isnt all that bad but the other games had it. Overall I recommend trying the game out, its very fun to kill time and collect costumes(if you can somehow get new pieces) despite its obvious flaws. Of course, the game just came out pretty recently so I hope the devs continue to support and improve this game!
