This is hard to review. The app has glitches galore. I love Joan and she’s so inspirational to me. Anytime you see the daughter you can be sure it’s time for showboating. I’ve used the app from limited range of motion (what is that?!) to beginner. Both are very challenging, but when you see Michelle doing an exercise it always feels advanced-disheartening to a beginner. I think she’s too far along the training journey to even remember what beginner looks like. Stay out and just give us Joan and truly beginner exercises. Also routines do get boring at the end as they are all very similar. Stated as 50 min routines, but often takes longer. Love Joan but the rest needs work. I will check out other apps when my subscription is up and not sure if I’ll return.
I jumped on TWJ bandwagon in February. Paid the introductory fee and started off with the Intermediate workout. Yes, there are three levels (Beginners, Limited Motion and Intermediate levels). I’ve been exercising for over 20 yrs.+ so I went with the intermediate level. 12 weeks of 6-7 day workouts, some repetitiveness but overall I learned some new exercises. The app itself is glitchy and not user friendly. I’ve brought this to the attention of support many times but still happens. The community is great (other TWJ members). Now that I finished the 12 week program what’s next? Apparently, that’s it…unless you do the challenge which is extra cost (and I refuse to pay addl $$$) to something I’ve paid well over $100 for a yearly subscription. There are plenty of free workouts/programs on the internet and Utube. I believe the program has potential but it needs more work, in my opinion. I know some members enjoy the program and have paid extra for the challenges. This program can be done at home but you’ll need exercise equipment (dumbbells, resistance bands, stability ball, plyo box or step). I think it’s great Joan turned her health around and is in the best shape of her life at 70+ years of age. One of the reasons I keep exercising is that I want to live a healthy life and not suffer from mobility issues as I age. I would recommend this program if they improve the app and add more workouts (variety of exercises and not repetitive exercises ) at no addl cost to their members. I wish TWJ the best..
I love this app. I have followed Joan on IG and was so pleased to see this new app make her fitness program accessible, economical and easy to use. This app is great for any age person wanting to get into shape as there are multiple levels to start from, from a limited mobility program-all the way up to a higher fitness level program led by Joan’s daughter, Michelle. Joan is professional, encouraging and inspiring. Each workout is clearly well thought out and easy to follow at your own pace. There is also meal and nutrition advice and a message board for users that are both fantastic. As someone of middle age, it feels like most exercise programs are either too intimidating or too “cutesy” and end up pandering to perceptions of aging that are rather insulting. Not here! Very refreshing to a see positive role model instead of a negative aging stereotype. (I’m giving the app 4 stars only because there are a few video glitches that need to be sorted out by the developers. New app, so to be expected.)
