I used use The Walking Dead Topps app religiously. I understand that maybe they were losing profits by continuing to pay AMC for the rights to make new sets, especially since TWD isn’t as popular as it once was, but the least they could do for long-time paying customers is allow us to trade with each other. The graveyard description of this app is a good way to say how it feels coming on here. Just looking at the cards I once acquired through trading and/or other means. It’s very sad, allowing trading might make it less depressing.
I’ve been on all the Topps apps for years, including those that are no longer supported (UFC, Huddle, WWE Slam, The Walking Dead Universe). I understand that Topps is at the mercy of the intellectual property owners and whether they want to renew their contracts every few years for digital and/physical content. I love these apps and want to continue to support them and enjoy them with confidence. An app like Topps Digital Archive would be an amazing safety net that people would enjoy IF they were still able to trade existing content. I do understand that, once the contract expires, Topps can no longer create new content nor profit from further sales of existing content, and I know that it cost $ and effort to maintain an app with a trade feature and chat functions… however, not having those within this archive is also causing the consumer base to wain because collectors on active apps are worried that their cards will become locked into an app with no real purpose other than to claim collectors can still technically “access” their collections. I am just a long time collector looking in, but I believe adding full functionality to this archive will generate profit elsewhere that more than makes up for the investment. Collectors need to feel that their time, effort, and $$$ spend building their collections isn’t going to waste. I am hoping this message resonates with Topps and its consumers alike. I’m putting down 5 stars because I’m holding onto my faith that Topps will make the right choices in this matter!
For everyone that has been complaining about this (graveyard) archive app. Do you remember when you looked at Topps digital rules it clearly states that you are not given the permission or rights of any card that you (buy) collect. As time passes you will see everything come to this app Bunt, Marvel, Star Wars, WWE, ALL Topps Digital Apps will eventually be put into the so called graveyard. I’m not completely upset about it but just would like to ask you guys if you could please allow us to trade with each other within the app. I know you guys aren’t making any money off this app but please try and understand that all of your customers (put together) have spent a ton of money over the years and just viewing your personal account is kind of boring and pointless if nobody else can interact with it. Please make the right decision here guys and allow your Topps Fans to have a better experience within the app by allowing us to trade with each other regardless of your not going to be able to make any money in the future of us. TIME TO DO THE RIGHT THING HERE GUYS!!!!
