TomTom - Maps & Traffic

We have been using the app since we had a TomTom device and liked it but discontinued using it because it wasn’t as convenient as just using our phone. We were excited to use your app because of our experience with the TomTom device, but the app isn’t as accurate and sometimes gives false directions that would make the trip much longer. It’s so frustrating we will probably just use our maps app on our iPhone in the future. We also don’t use Google Maps for the same reason.

Overall, this is an excellent app for the iPhone, featuring TomTom maps and traffic data (also used by other apps), a very clear interface, and good routing. The small only issue is that on CarPlay, the navigation view is often more zoomed in, whereas on the iPhone it's almost always perfect. That is, on the iPhone you can see not only where you are, but more of where you're going.

App tells me to turn within just feet of my turn instead of ahead of the turn and ducks music all the time instead of just during speech. Doesn’t support the new half screen feature of CarPlay. It’s not quite bad but it’s definitely lacking in details like stop lights and stop signs. Also in certain areas the speed limits are extremely off (gave me 20 mph on a 40 mph road). Edits on TomTom’s website for things like speed limits are extremely cumbersome and slow so I can’t fix a whole city of wrong speed limits. 🤷‍♂️
