This is an elegant, well-organized app. I love it. For me, what would make it perfect is to have the transliteration written with IPA with tone marks. The high class consonants contain rising tones. It helps to see how they are written plus hear how they are pronounced. I would also like a feature that allows the user to sort according to need. For example, I’d love the option to sort by consonant class.
I have several apps for learning to read/write/speak Thai and I love that this one includes the vowels! AND I love how you can separate groups like just the short vowels or just the high consonants because that’s typically how they’re taught, in groups. My only issue has been that it sometimes changes screens when I intended to tap on something. Then I have to start back at the top when I return to the screen I wanted. Not sure if it’s a glitch, my phone or just me. This app has been very helpful!
This is NOT a stand alone app it you want to learn the Thai alphabet, the tone rules, etc. It IS however, a great app for drilling the characters, vowels, the basic numbers and their corresponding sound and Thai spelling. I give this app 4 stars because besides the annoying adds, the occasional lag, and the unintentional shifting from one screen to the next when I intend to tap on a card to hear the sound... the only thing I think this FREE app is missing is the ability to choose and isolate cards I want to get more proficient at and MOST importantly it NEEDS a Quiz Mode!
