I have sunk more hours than I’d care to admit into this game. I was a huge fan of the Stick Wars flash computer game growing up, and this bringers up memories of that. It’s also fun to continue to grow your army and see new characters. However, there are still many, many flaws to this game. Major complaints/recommendations would be: - The time doesn’t track. I have played this game for well over 7 days now, yet the game only occasionally and seemingly at random decides when a new day has passed. This messes with many of the features including: daily log in rewards, free daily battles, shop refresh, and free wheel spin. I feel like this should be an easy fix. - If you accidentally click on an add, you don’t get the reward. This is extremely frustrating. After you’ve watched in total a minute long ad in order to get more coins or a chest or something, then you happen to accidentally click on the ad, you’re brought to the app store. However, when you click out of the app store and return to the game, the whole thing freezes. Thus, you have to relaunch the app, and when you get back in, both the reward and even the opportunity for the reward are gone. - Finally, there should be a way for you to track the stats of the characters at ALL their levels, not just the current and next one. Especially because, as far as I can see, upgrades aren’t strictly linear. So one is left not knowing the if their level 5 Blue troop is better than their level 3 or 4 Green troop, for example. A compendium of the stats of all the troops at all their levels would vastly improve the game and strategy. Again, I do enjoy this game, sometimes. If these blaring, basic issues would be addressed, I feel like more people would stay with the game, and this review would go from a 3 to a 5.
The game itself is a nice time waster, making it fun to collect new troops and work out team comps when you have variety. Battles are quick, theres always ways to get income for new units, and you can even save up in game earned gems for power. So where does it go wrong? The devs do everything in their power to make the game as miserable as possible. I understand a free to play game needs to make some kind of money. I’ll never fault devs needing income from projects like this. However, when you compare it to other ftp games, the effort they put to make the game as horrible as possible for cash is really bad. Did you just log in? Ad. Did you win a battle but want any sort of actually reward? Watch an ad. Do you want a chest which is the only way to quickly get a variety of units? Ad. Did you deny every chance to watch an ad? Too bad, you need to watch an ad when you go back home. Other good ftp games don’t force this down your throat. I would rather deal with paywalls then watching the stupidest adverts I’ve ever seen over and over again. What’s worse is the “vip” bonus. For 20 dollars, you get income and the ability to skip ads…10 times a day. You cannot even escape the ads when you pay more same price of a good indie game on pc. The pricing is outrageous for unit gain both gold and gems. In conclusion, go play battle cats. I know the devs will respond to this and give their excuses to seem like hardworking and listening people. But it’s all to save face in the review section. The devs have a fun game that’s ruined by making it into cable. Put more effort in the game then you do your own ad.
The game is really fun when you can upgrade your characters but sometimes it’s hard because you don’t have the right things to do that but it’s also pretty fun because you can fight in the war and get an unlock new characters like demons and giants and robots and goblins it’s also pretty fun whenever it has all those cool kind of ways to get money and ways to get other stuff but I don’t like the fact that we have to pay money to get all those special items and stuff but still the game is really fun and I enjoy playing it ask your friends to play games like these it’s really fun
