Seriously, if you are a Ducks fan, congrats. But if you aren’t, be ready. I have dealt and I have dealt, but tonight was all I could take. Eight of the first 10 articles were about Oregon football and basketball! If I wanted that much sports coverage, I would be on a sports app. I have done all I can. Make sure the app knows that I am not a fan, but it keeps going. I don’t know what else to do. Yes, at least having 10% be about the Beavers would help, but again I am not on here for sports. Also, PLEASE quit having week old stories on the daily feed. Why am I paying to see the same stuff day after day
The two struggling Gannett publications should be combined into one publication. It is my understanding the Salem office now oversees the couple Eugene reporter’s. Salem has a slightly more reporters than Eugene. I’ve subscribed to both for the last year. Having both, I knew most of the news in the Willamette valley. Many news stories were in both publications and just a few that were local to the each publication. I’d recommend combining both publications into one, The Willamette Valley News. I think, if they combined two together, they wouldn’t loose subscribers and they would have a paper that would potentially draw Oregonian subscribers. I’ve dropped the Salem Statesman because it seems redundant to subscribe to two papers that have the a lot of same news articles. I do miss some of the Statesman’s articles.
App is good. Nice way to access local news and support local journalism that connects to community. Worth the price and way better than doom scrolling through social media feed.
