Skull King Scorekeeper

This app is awesome and very helpful to play this game our family loves! I honestly couldn’t imagine keeping score by paper anymore, as this is so much more efficient and makes the game more fun as I can focus on the play rather than the scoring. They let you try it for a few times for free and then ask for a tip, but the tip is very minimal (a few dollars). I’m cheap and I tipped the high-end because it is worth it, and frankly the work they put into making this app deserves the reward. If you play Skull King, this is a must have!

The biggest difficulty of skull king (especially for new players) is the complicated scoring, and this app makes the entire learning and gameplay process seamless! Built-in UI checks ensure that you’re logging the correct number of tricks per round, and the scores are easy to read and reference at any time. My one suggestion is to make it possible in Rascal scoring for each player to declare Grapeshot or Cannonball, rather than it being a fixed choice for all players across the game. So I’ve tried out a bunch of the different apps out there to speed up my Skull King scoring. This one is easily the best and my favorite. It’s easy to use, clean, and intuitive. Not a bunch of fluffy “pirate font” and no need to scroll up and down each round to add information. all on one, easy to read screen, I also like that they are continuing to make improvements to the app, they are also very quick to respond to feedback. I emailed them a request for an improvement and it was pushed out in an update the next day! Just know that as a free app it will occasionally ask for a tip. After a lot of additional app use the prompts to tip got more frequent. In the end I decided to pay the relatively small tip suggestion to kill the requests. Normally this would have bothered me but as I use the app a lot and as I really do like it, I decided it was worth a few bucks to say thanks to the developers. Anyway, five stars, keep up the great work!
